Default Vacation Plans

Well, our "shortened" deployment turned back into a normal (read year long) deployment. Oh well. My wife and I never got to take a normal honey moon thanks to the Army and such. Next summer when we get back I will be taking a month of leave and plan on doing some traveling. My wife has family in Arizona and Colorado that we would like to visit. What we are "planning" on doing is traveling up the colorado river by land and hitting all the big lakes and such. I am trading in the Titan on a Diesel so that helps in the towing. Not sure whether we will be hotelling it or camping it, maybe a little bit of both. With the Nordic I have enough room to sleep the two of us for sure, just need to figure out the power. Someone mentioned a small generator on one of the other posts, may be a decent option. Any one have any ideas for cool places to hit? I want to see the Grand Canyon (never been farther west than Texas) and maybe the Nordic Factory Hoover damn, Lake Powell, Lake Mead, Lake Havasu. Any others worth hitting up guys?? Maybe I will run into a few of you on the trip as well!

Southern Utah is incredible. Bryce, Moab, it goes on and on. I would highly reccomend Lake Powell there is nothing else like it.

Hahaha, yeah, I am glad I live in Texas. Winter is short enough to just get the little things done on the boat I was hoping to be in Havasu for the Desert Storm run, get to see some bad arse boats, but it is in April, I will still be out here yuck...

I am gonna order a large map of the west and use that for my plotting. Do some googling and stuff to get some good ideas Exciting!!

Sweet deal, thanks guys! I will have to etch a Nordic Dragon on the side of one of my 5.56 so the enemy knows how we roll lol.

Jay, I just want to reiterate what nodic said, thank you for all you and our military do. I also agree with JD, Lake Powell is incredible. By far my favorite lake but I haven't been to Havasu yet. I hope to make it down there next year.
God luck and godspeed!
