Nordic 28SS....I got one!

It has been a lot of work and patience but it is a done deal. I bought the Orange and Grey one off of Nordic's website. Looking to be picking it up middle of next month.

I can't even begin to say how great the Nordic people have been to work with. Larry & Kevin are great people and I would strongly encourage anyone to work with them. Also for anyone here in Utah Brett Kenley will take care of as well, although he is trying to get his face airbrushed onto the supercharger...

Thanks.

I went with the 600SCI, not looking to go crazy. I figure the 600 also gives me cheap room to grow if i want.

Congratulations JD,
The 28ss is a beautiful and bad ass boat. The lines are very nice on the deck and hull. You can tell they really took their time on the plugs and molds.
You're going to have a great spring and summer!
Best Regards,
Steve

Congrats! I saw the one at the Utah boat show and loved it. Looks like it's going 100 sitting on the trailer. Did it come with the IMCO gimbal and drive? Where do you usually boat at? Hope to see you and your new boat at one of the local lakes this summer.

Jay Gadsby 02-28-2012 06:13 PM

Congrats man! Beautiful boat to say the least! Cant wait to see some video and such, hint hint wink wink. :)

raytart 02-28-2012 06:36 PM

WOW! Happy boating. That is really sharp looking. Best of luck.

JD Dearden 02-28-2012 09:29 PM

Back in December me and the wife had tickets to a band called Puscifer down PHX. On the way down we stopped in Havasu and Kevin took us out in that SS. After that I knew that was the boat, originally wanted a Thor but the layout is better for my kids with the SS.

No just an XR, I have been lucky in the past with keeping stock trans in a few trucks. Thinking I would try that again.

Usually Deer Creek, I keep the boat in the Heber valley, it fits in my Dad's garage. Utah Lake also. I am sure we could find a spot this summer, maybe Jay could join us.

Cool boat. They made some really great improvements. Love the cuddy chairs, the 4 man wide seat, and the swim platform. I'm very impressed with the new design.

I actually had the cuddy chairs removed. I am too tall to use them and I wanted a larger area to lie down if I wanted to sleep under there for some reason. The swim platform will work really well since I have two kids.

Congrats on the new ride. How's the cat insurance market nowadays? Still an arm/leg?

just curious what coverage you guys have? i pay 725 yr and payed 450 yr when i had the hammer, that being said i do/did have agreed value which i know adds alot, just guessing you guys do not, this is through progressive

Jay Gadsby 03-02-2012 12:02 AM

Right now I have progressive. i have agreed value with them. Iwas quoted by farmers at 600/year. I will check state farm too. Don't know how much age plays into it, i am only 30.

sport 03-02-2012 09:12 AM

Nice boat I was at Nordic last saturday and it was in the back getting some rigging, you will like the 600sci and it is very easy to upgrade with the Whipple stuff when the warranty is up if you want more speed.
John

Sweet I am a pain and had them make some changes to it. Those upgrades are going to be hard not to do....

Post a pic of your boat, I would like to know what to look for.

i'm not really upset with my rates and know i have good coverage, after 7 yrs of no claims and no deductable i thought it might drop, wishful thinking, i'm 34 with a clean history which used to make a difference, i was just curious how some get insured for so cheap

i do have agreed value coverage... 38k which is what i paid for the boat a few years back. and i'm 37
i have a bayliner trophy on my policy w/ an agreed upon value of 13k and that one's 185\yr..

I've looked at Jay's boat in person when the previous owner had for sale up here in Lynnwood, wa so i know the value is similar to mine.

BTW, congrats on the 28SS JD, that boat is SICK... i love the 4 poker run seats across the back and the wrap around windshield.

You'll get crazy soon enough. When have you ever left a truck motor alone?

Jay Gadsby 03-09-2012 09:35 AM

If you decide you want a bigger engine, let me know ;) I am in the market for an upgrade lol.

Beautiful boat, well designed interior layout. Any idea of the speeds with the 600SCi? BTW, you should love the 600SCi, we have (2) of them in our 388, and they AWESOME motors! :)

Looks like it went well into the 90's, has more room with the perfect prop.

How did it run with the 600

I had four people in the boat full of fuel and backed out at 90mph, my mom was kindoff freaking out. It runs 95 with this 32p prop on there but hits the rev limiter. I need to get it out up here and get a little more data so I can really maximize performance with another prop. I am hoping that the 32p will be perfect for Utah elevations. And than pick up another prop for lower elevations.

VegasNordic 03-27-2012 11:18 PM

Would have been awesome to meet you. Loved the black trailer contrasting the orange in the boat. I got there about 10:30 Thursday. I was there til sunday. Were you on the water all weekend?

Jay Gadsby 03-28-2012 03:48 AM

Still waiting on the pics.... gay. I know you young people have short attention spans, but really, post some pics! lol.

I don't know how I missed you. I pulled into Nordic at almost the same time. Me my wife and my mom and dad walked around for awhile and than we put the boat on the water around 2. We spent a few hours on the lake and than loaded up and headed for Phoenix.
