How fast?? Nordic heat
Ok, so im running a 26p 4 blade prob and im only seeing about 64-65mph I could have 8 people or 2 people and it does the same. (this is not a gps speedo)
I have a 2003 heat with a 525 how fast is the thing suppose to go and what prop should I get for the best performance.

A friend of mine owns a 2002 Nordic Heat with a 496 Mag HO which is 100 horsepower LESS than your 525. With a stock 26p Bravo 1 prop he will hit 63-64 gps. With a labbed 26p Bravo 1 he can get to 65 mph.
I agree with JD--what is your elevation?? RPM's now?? Dont trust the drive speedo. Use the GPS in your phone and see what your true speed is. Having 8 people on board should slow you down significantly vs only having 2 people on the boat. Something doesnt sound right.
Personally, I think you should be getting close to 70 mph but need more data.

Definitely check your speed with GPS. My 2003 with a 500EFI, AZ SPM throttle body, 26p stock prop at 700 feet consistently hits 70.6 and on real good day I had seen 72.2. I have a prop being worked on right now and hopefully see more! My spedo normally runs 4 to 5 mph faster than the GPS. Next step I am going to add a 1" drive spacer.

I was running lake mojave which is up above bullhead city, but I am going to try havisu in 2 weeks and see what the heck it does, Im also going to buy a gps speedo

The 500 boats should run low 70s
525 boats easily mid 70s
575s high 70 to low 80s
600s low 80s
800s to get to 90s
1000 to get to 100
All these #s have a 5mph + or - variable based on load, weather, altitude, setup, and driving styles.
I think you have a setup/rigging issue, commonly known around here as too high of an x dimension.
The best fix is to determine your x dimension, and if it is high (like 19"s), add a 1" drive space to lock up your propeller better and get more hydrodynamic lift. You should also experiment with propellers. Some of us use 5 blades, some people are still running 4s. The 5 blades offer better plane off, midrange efficiency, and high speed lift and stability.

Hey Steve I am interested in a drive spacer. How much does a good one run on price? How do you determine the x dimension on the heats? I am all stock 496 ho, however I am running a 4 blade powertech 25 pitch OFX model prop. I would like more speed low fuel and me alone I can only get it up to 63 mph. I do have some extra weight in there from alout of audio stuff like 175 pounds worth. Had it in there when I made the purchase though. Ive heard about the heats slipping out of the hole a bit as does mine if I get into the trottle to much. Is that normal?

Steve- Thanks for the round about numbers. I am going to enjoy my boat this season, but winter time I am planning on some engine work. Now I know the rough numbers to shoot for to get me over 80
Time for some compression, some cubes and a little tuning
All of the spacers I have seen run around the same price as seen here. I have seen some people hawking 1" spacers on this site for 200-250, but rarely do they pop up.
