Default Adding storage next to cooler in a Nordic Heat

I recently added some storage next to the cooler in the cabin of my Heat. i cut out the tissue\cup holder area and added an access door.

there is a surprising amount of storage next to the cooler that is mostly dead space.

here is the final result. the rest of the pics show how how i did it.

the start:

heres what i cut out

after the cut

used 2 part epoxy to secure new access door

Closed

added 2 pieces of plywood to block off interior walls

L bracket to secure wall between storage and cooler

Nice!! Have you done anything under the cabin seats?? Assuming there is a bit of dead space under there.

Great job Ned. You mean to tell me you don't use your tissue holder!? LOL Might be the worst/most useless thing on these boats.

oh ya, i cut the bottom out of the cabin seats a few years back. there's a couple threads in this forum on how to do that. tons of storage there too as well as behind the cabin seats (i store life jackets behind the cabin seats, towels and other stuff under)

i almost feel like whoever designed the cabin had a 62 impala w/ the rare tissue dispenser (like a lot of older cars had) and felt like it would be a cool option in a boat too. lol

Great Idea and nice work Ned. I don't know what I would do without the water soaked tissues.............Do you think we could make any money as riggers for Nordic ?
