Default Wind deflectors for a Heat

Hello All,

Does anyone know where to get wind deflectors for a Heat. Of course, looking for something that looks good and reasonably priced. Last year Hot Boat had a review on the heat and listed wind deflectors, but after talking to Nordic they didn’t make them and gave me a number of a guy at Cal-Custom that makes them on the side. Well I talked with him and he wanted $500.00 for a set, not sure I want to spend that much for deflectors.

Any direction would be appreciated….

I use the WindAway, you can find them on the internet or in the back of Hotboat, if you need the internet address, let me know. They work very well and are easily removed at the end of the day. They do not scratch the windshield either. Much cheaper than the factory ones. Here is a shot of one of them up on my boat...Steve

Hey Indy,

Thanks for the info. I checked out the web site and like you said looks they will work. How fast have you ran with them? How well do the really block the wind? Also, is the price per 1 or per 1 set, do you know?

Thanks agian.

I have a 28 Nordic with a 496HO...not that fast LOL. 67 tops with that engine. Price was about $140 for the set (I think). They block as well as you can get within reason. If the wind is coming from the side, they are so-so, but anything else would be the same. Bottom line is that we're happy we have them. Well worth the money.

I too have a set of the Wind A Way's. After talking with Indy I tried them and like them. As he said they do not scratch the windshield and they work good on deflecting the wind. The only downside to them or any brand of that design is if it is windy out you need to keep moving them to different locations to block the wind. It is surprising that wind while at boating speeds can still push the air around them, but it does.

There is also another manufacture that makes them but that brand requires a round bar to be mounted to the boat that the windscreen attachs to. It is a permant installation like what you see on Advantage boats.

Thanks for the leads Guys.. I'm going to order a set of the windaways looks like it will be worth it, mainly in early and late season when it's still a bit cold in our area.

Thanks agian.......

I have a set I have never used. I would be willing to part with them for a good price. Drop me a PM or E-mail if you are interested. I bought them last year and they won't work on my pantera fairing

Mike...what happened? Isn't your fairing 1/2"? Can a longer set of thumb screws do the trick for ya??? Are you going to try another manufacturer? I was curious how those worked for you last year but never heard you mention them.

BTW...how do you like your lowered floor and foot wells? Does it effectively increase the freeboard of the boat?

Sorry for all the questions, just gathering info for when I order my twin SB Pantera someday
