Thumbs up Wind Deflectors

The wife and I have been talking about these for a while. A fellow OSO'er had some scrap pieces of plexiglass that we DUCT TAPED on!

Yes JO, the 200 mph tape held on at GPS 77.5 mph with a full load of fuel

These things worked AWESOME! Now....to design a permanent solution.

They worked surpisingly well! Most of the air went up and over your head. If you slouched down a bit, it was almost calm. This was all sitting in the bolsters. If you were standing, they may as well not even be there.

You may get away with standing Von Bongo...with your dropped floor.

I saw yours for sale. What's next?

Thirsty -

I'll pretend I didn't see you use duct tape on that sweet boat of yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I are looking for a deflector of some sort. I have the old style wind sheild with the 3/4" bar.

We just invested in good wrap around sunglasses (Oakleys) that work pretty well but a deflector would keep the bugs out of faces!!!

Anyone have any ideas?

I fabricated some small delrin blocks that drop into the slot in the windscreen and have 1/4 turn locking bars to secure them and the plexiglass affixes to the front of the delrin with 10-32 brass machine screws. It gets mighty cold here in november and I needed the deflectors to quell the wicked windchill. Good for thoose pesky T-storms that pop out of nowhere also. I will try to get some photos. Do you have the V windscreen or straight like mine? The Ironman.

Kirk, let me know the seat height in your boat and I can also check windscreen height. I do not think they will be too effective if you are standing in the bolsters though but they are very effective in my boat while sitting down in the seats. I have sit down seats not stand up bolsters. I will get some photos and post 'em. Ironman.
