No lights on had lights on, drinking to much, goin to fast, couldn't see, operator distracted, inexperienced operator, on and on can be any of the above and we all have done it.
Bottom line is that three peoples lives have been wrecked for ever because of this.
Can't be fixed its just plain tragic.

Does this mean 500HP in a motor, or 500hp total for a boat? I'd like a link to the actual legistlation if someone has it.

The river queen is only like 150hp or something from what I have been told. Just a 4 banger deisel. There are I am guessing a LOT of cruisers that will be over this limit. I can only guess that it is 500hp total based on some rumors that I have heard.

How will they measure the hp. they're not touching my boat. I'm in on the fight, tell me where to go. It's my right as an American to have 500 600 or 3000hp, as long as I use it in a manner that does not effect others negitively.

I guess the one thing we can count on is the complete lack of law enforcement on the lakes of maine. So nothing can be enforced.
If this passes what will they do to current registrations? Grandfather or make you sell your boat? or do you just plain lie about your hp rating.
Another factor would be the idiocy of the people writing these bills. the language will be too vague or too f-ed up to get it passed. much like the proposed speed limit bill in NH
