Hey guys I did alittle research and he lives on central ave.
Its on shelbourne cove.
How is shelbourne to anchor and possibly sleep on the boat.
He's not a boater but he says we can walk up from the boat easily. also said its very sheltered and safe to anchor.
Any thoughts?
any sights to see in the area places to go by boat etc.
Also if theres a better place close by now that you know where we will be based let me know your opinions.

Central Ave. is near Queen City Park or Red Rocks Park as it is locally known. It is tucked in the northeast corner of Shelburne Bay. Good anchoring right there off the beach with protection from north winds and a short fetch from the south. There are many places to overnight in the area as well as marinas that will have transient slips. You will be just a couple miles south of the Burlington waterfront and just a quick run to Malletts Bay.
The lake is fully charted and they are available at most marinas and anyplace that sells fishing tackle. Right at the end of Queen City Park Road there is Datillio's Guns and Tackle/Sunoco gas station (only in Vermont, eh?) that should be able to fix right up with charts.
There is a free public ramp at the south end of Shelburne Bay in addition to the other ones mentioned. Perkins pier and the Coast Guard ramp are much nicer and should not be too crowded now that Labor Day has passed.
The weather is looking iffy at this point but who knows? It seems like they have been worng more than right this summer. Bring the boat. Buy a chart. Fill the tanks and head out. It's a beautiful area for boating, second to none.

Havent got a chart yet but I am at perkins. If anyone is out tomorrow look for a white and red sutphen with outboards, pull up and say hello.
I would like to check out some of the local hot spots.
Sounds like thayers and treadwell are the places from the posts I have read.
