I may just have to do that and let you know....I was tossing around the idea of running up there with wife/kid to the torches area for an overnighter... Last year we ran around the bay a lot with the baby, getting her used to the ride (she loves it!) but never traveled long distance... So now that she'll be closer to 3 yrs old, I figure a nice run up the Hudson is much more predictable/calm with the baby onboard!
That area Bear Mnt up thru Newburgh bridges is my home turf . My dad is a member at he Cortland Yacht club which is a little south of Bear Mnt which is a great family spot for overnighting with a pool, clean showers, food, etc & lotsa kids. The barge ( bar ) is called Gully's , there are a half a dozen or so great resturants on the water in that area. As far as 93 octane on the water . I'd say no but 91 is availible . If I knew you were heading up I could get you some race fuel to make up the difference. Give me shout if your thinking about taking a cruise up north "up the mother waters" as my old man calls it.

Here are my girls at 3 & 6... they cant get enough of the boat

Will do!! 91 is ok for topping off and a cruise!

Furthest north I ever went was Catskill Creek where we spent the night at HopNose Marina. When I was a little kid my parents knew the owners of the marina and went up there for long weekends all the time (so much that I thought they were my cousins) so when I bought my Scarab in the 90's, I thought it would be fitting to take a trip up there!!! We went to dinner at some restaurant near the foot of the creek.

I heard they rebuilt the Bayview restaurant in Haverstraw? That was another restaurant we'd go to for lunch a lot before it burned down.

Sounds good, I'm sure we'll visit this summer! Before it burned down they started doing Sunday brunch and we didn't know that so the last time we went all you could get for lunch was the brunch buffet.... I also left my cellphone in the bathroom and some jackazz stole it. Anyway, it burned down shortly thereafter...karma???

Anyway, it was always a good place so I look forward to going back there again!
