I call bull$hit on this. So you are telling me a guy was driving a Cigarette TopGun in flat water and he makes a turn and rolls the boat over and he falls out of it. I say prove it! By the way having a boat super light is not necessarily a good thing , especially if it is very light in the nose or transom. Also the 31 Sutphen Spirit(your hull correct?) was made with both BBC and outboards so which was the hull designed for. I know with Cigarette the TG and the Cafe where all designed for aTRS drives with trannies and the boats definately handled different and many will say they handled better with TRS
Come on you never saw that russia video of the TG rolling over in flat water, dumping its moron owner and running up on shore? I cant fidn the freakin thing or Id post it. someone else on here has to have the link for sure. It was one funny video. Light isnt always good but it was good enough to win sutphen more titles than CIG! :party-smiley-004: I am an amatuer driving my boat still. My 26 I had down I could run that thing on flat water with no issues at WOT But it took me a long time to figure out how to do it, In fact SEW FAST showed me how. My boat is a different animal altogether because its got the porta bracket and ininite possibilities for set up. Its like setting up a 4 link, sometimes theres just too much adjustment there if you dont know what your doing and I don't Ive onlt owned it 1 season and most of that was spent taking the kinds out or being late for stuff. Very little use in flat calm water, which is NOT where sutphens are meant to be with a 26 degree graduated deadrise. Kind of like the AT VS Fountain Thrad in the CPBA forum. Point is It likely not be the boat thats the issue, but the driver and I will fully take the blame on that one! Jimmy knowles would make my boat run 4 MPH faster and it would run rock solid. The guy is a master with an OB sutphen or an OB anything for that matter. Your right heavy can be a good thing in some conditions, But its curious to me that when things get rough Sutphen usually brings home the win. Just ask Ernie who owns BOXER, he'd run circles around you guys ( and me) in his 26 or 32 sutphens in rough water. course hes a mad man!:evilb: |
OK smart azz heres the old thread for the video!
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/m...its-jetty.html it was a 39 CIG and it was GAY! LOL I cant find the video unfortunately but at least tehres proof that all these guys saw it too. The CIG army must have made him pull the video down cant have any evidence of a CIG BEING LAME! LOL |

I would be willing to bet they were ALL designed for SBC's and I say this because many of the race aboats I have seen were SBC packages.

Jeff is a hater Frank. I have never heard anyone refer to us as "Cig guys". Actually, never heard anyone referred as "brand guys" before. Hes the only guy I know that labels owners based on the boat they own. I dont really understand it, but hes so stuck on "Cig guys are arrogant and think their brand is the best". Mean while, he hangs on to his Sutphen name worse than any "Cig guy" could imagine! Its ignorance at its best so dont waste your time trying to make him understand reality Frank. Just my .02:grinser010:
