I am also a fan of that boat. It flies level. I would love a ride in an AT they are definately on my short list of boats I would buy new.

i prolly have about 50 hours in that boat....

kreed 04-11-2011 09:02 AM

Adam, what would you say the pro's and cons are of the 33 AT?

302Sport 04-11-2011 09:12 AM

boat is awesome and would be on my short list if i didnt already own a 33 footer. only con i can see with the boat is the bravos. if pat would build a 33 w arnesons and 525's it would be a rocket. no offense to the AT guys but they seem to always post speed numbers with one person and no fuel in the boat. my buddies 33 has seen 93mph once on the recall and that was empty fuel, one person, and down river. most of the time with a load the boat will run mid to high 80's.

30ctsutphen 04-11-2011 09:41 AM

Scot I just heard of a 40 sutphen with twin 900's and surface drives for sale!!

Sounds to me like it fits what your looking for except for that deadly step hull Idea. LOL

But its a graduated deadrise which is better anyway!

Price is kinda sketchy IMO but you could work on them IM SURE!

Pics !!! Year?, power, condition, speed? Hello Mcfly!!! :lolhit:

Sick Stinger 04-11-2011 11:13 AM

The Remedy boat was a solid 90 MPH boat with 1/2 fuel and 2 people Saw mid 90's i believe on the sea trial when Drew bought it.

302Sport 04-11-2011 11:21 AM

well u know how that goes. two of the same boats can run different speeds. Had a buddy with a 42X w/700's and he ordered a new boat, excact same, just new. he sold his 42 to a buddy and when the new boat came in, he ran next to his buddy and the new boat couldnt keep up with his old boat. to say the least he was pissed haha. exact same set-up, same options, same props, same everything

Earls is a 38 and I have no clue why you would order three 42x's.

the second and third had basically the same paint too. if you didnt know it was a new boat, you prolly would have no idea haha. i dunno i guess he likes having the warranty as hes ordered like 10 new cigs. a brand new one every two years is the normal schedule

$75k wont buy it, neither will $80K. As of last week, the lowest he will go on it is $85k, cashola. The boat needs a headliner and vinyl. Dash and controls have some corrosion. Runs right at 100 with the Bmax's. 250+ hours, but new valve springs, etc.

That boat? :D

yup, but i think he had a deposit on it and the guy never came up with the money. so the price may have changed in the last couple of days. heres another question, would you buy it for $75k??????? if your answer is yes, do what I would do. he already said $85k on the phone, so go to the bank, and send a check for $75K......hes crazy if he doesnt take it in this market. real money talks right now, not some BS over the phone IMO

He did not have a deposit on it last week, that I know. I made the offer (cash) at the end of the week, and told him I wanted to pick it up tomorrow (4/12). He wouldn't go below $85k, but that was through Pat, so if someone went direct to the seller he might have a slightly lower number.

It's not a bad boat, it just needs about $10k in repairs and at the end of the day, it still has that 'interesting' purple/red/green/yellow/... paint and ugly (IMO) hatch with quite a few hard hours on those KE's. On the plus side the drives, props, top end-end, and headers are fairly fresh.

Like I told Pat, the boat is probably worth $75-$80k in parts (he agreed), it's not worth more complete with $10k+ worth of work needing to be done...

302Sport 04-11-2011 02:25 PM

yeah your pretty much right on the money with that. but like im saying, in this market if you have a real buyer, dump the GD thing and move on.....

They are IMO compared to ****ty XR's or plain Jane Bravos! But I agree with what you're saying. ;)

Not really.....they're not better. Id much rather have an XR sporty over a Bmax!

The uppers are nearly as strong as a NXT, the lowers are basically a stock bravo lower. They give up some speed due to the size of the upper gear, etc, but if you're runing decent size power, the Bmax will hold up a LOT better than a Merc bravo based/geared drive.

Sick Stinger 04-11-2011 03:27 PM

Scot a few nice Sonic 38's in the Classys under 120.

The uppers are not even close to an NXT. Talk to all the people that blow them the same as an XR and loose alot of mph.

The uppers are much closer in capacity to the NXT than the bravos. The newer Bmax's are decent drives, way more beefy than the run of the mill bravo.

kreed 04-11-2011 05:05 PM

Ok, ok, boys. Fight nice. NOw Im curious too. Who has proof to back up their statement that a BMAX drive is a stronger/weaker drive than a Mercury XR drive? If Dans right, this could change your next purchase Scot! On the other hand, I believe the old Bravo Shop is under new ownership and specializing in the BMAX drive and getting rave reviews....:party-smiley-004:

WildThing47 04-11-2011 05:22 PM

WildThing47 04-11-2011 05:23 PM

I tend to agree on the XR sporty....I can hear the *****ing start lol but again you couldn't pay me to run anything but a #6....or if I were going massive, I'd hit BPM or Arnenson

Yeah if you really want something CHEAP you show up with CASH in hand and the guy will take it!. I know $75 K in cash is a hand full but if you want it cheap you gotta do it.

I have a guy I know who buys classic cars and he never goes without a brown paper bag full of cash, I have seen him with 60K in a shopping bag.LOL

Its hysterical, but he gets deals they tell everyone else NO on.

you can talk to my good friend jamie hays about how sh!tty bmax's are. he breaks atleast 1-2 a year. he has 3 of them on his 45 SS. Long story short, they blow.

He wish he could have some NXT's.
