Here you go! I hear the guy wants to buy a Cigarette:evilb:

1MOSES1 04-14-2011 11:04 AM

in all honesty when i purchased my boat which was about a half year ago...

i bought a jet ski, sold the same jet ski a few weeks later, and boat a boat all within a month time frame. if you are set on buying a boat you will make it happen.

personally it doesnt sound like you want one. not bashing scot or anything. its perfectly ok not to want a boat. thats his decision. all i am saying is that if he really wanted one he would have pulled the trigger a while ago. we are about to enter a time where boat buying is not good (spring). you will likely have to wait until mid summer or fall for good deals again. my 0.02

p.s. my intent here was to either

1 tell it how it is...i hope it isnt
2 talk b.s. so scot can prove me wrong haha

I hope its the second one.

WildThing47 04-14-2011 11:29 AM

Justin, I've given this more thought and I think you're 100% right on all counts. I dont know that I really want an additional boat. This is the wrong time to buy a boat as there are no deals out there. And since I haven't been able to get it done within a few weeks, I'm probably just never going to get it done. Thanks for showing me the light.
:(

innerrage 04-19-2011 07:47 AM

scot fix what u got good on gas easy to maintain. I want a 24ft 600hp small block pantera like plum loco, i really cant see spending all that money when my 21ft boat has nothing wrong with it, save your money, bigger the boat bigger the headache.:drink:

kreed 04-19-2011 08:04 AM

Well Scot, Studio54 always has a VIP pass for you if you dont find anything, good luck with the boat-quest as I have run out of suggestions for you. I think if you were going to buy something, you would have done it by now...........Just my senseless thought :(

all i was trying to say is that if you really wanted a boat, you would have pulled the trigger a long time ago. i spent hours upon hours searching for a boat. in the end we made it happen regardless if the price was a little more than we wanted to spend.

SS930 04-19-2011 12:37 PM

Thanks Brian, you might be right.

Thanks for the offer Moby, I mean Kevin. I might take you up on it. :)

Justin, you're a bully... But the words are well recieved. ;)

SS930 04-21-2011 06:51 AM

I've decided to buy a trailer instead of a boat. Far more ecconomical. Gotta be aluminum and preferably not one of those cheapo bolted together flexomatic models. Something that looks nice and adds a little value to an imaginary boat.

I cant afford a boat, so a new Myco might be a little more than I want to spend. Should I be looking at used models and then mod to fit my imaginary boat, or just spend 50% - 100% more and go with new. Drive gaurd & EoH are a must, which might make finding a used model a little tougher. If new, is Manning the way to go?

Scot, this imaginary question would be good for the general Q +A thread.

innerrage 04-21-2011 08:21 AM

good choice ,does the trailer have blowers:evilb:

I have a Manning under my Formula Scot....and it's been very good so far. I wouldn't buy a Myco.....just too much money. IMO.

Manning vs Mc Clain? I've heard good about both. Anyone know how they compare?

I think pretty similiar. I'm almost positive Active Thnder has put both under some of their new 37's in recent years. "Lazslo" recently had a Manning built for his 37. The thread is somewhere in the AT section.

I have a MYCO under mine and so does my Dad. They are definitiely the best trailer, but way overpriced. I only have one because that's what came with the boat when I bought it.

Sick Stinger 04-24-2011 09:49 AM

Did we quite on this guy or what? He hired us to find him a boat need to get his moneys worth out of this.

I never felt the Cafe was not long enough in the rough not once. Ask anyone who ever rode in that boat when it was snotty. The ride in the Cafe is what sold me on Cigarette! Not o mention you will have more power. Jeff if you think Mike has been crowing Cigarette before wait til he drives that thing.

No, last I heard Pecker was looking hard at it. Maybe Pecker will have it at DS and be able to share some pics of the boat... Maybe he'll even share some shots of he and Darr at Playland sharing a Happy-Meal as well!

sea2jet 04-26-2011 10:07 AM

I had a McClain under the Donzi 18 and I wasn't that impressed with it. I like the Amertrail thats under the 21SSX. It really tows nice and is constructed way better than the McClain was. McClain had great customer service though.

The Donzi sold and will live its life in the Lake George area.
The gentleman who bought it hired Chris at Offshore Performance to haul it up to him last week. I got an email from the new owner and they were having a blast with it last weekend. I believe they got it up to 68 mph with the 5.0mpi in it. Not too shabby for a 305 CI small block.

SS930 04-26-2011 01:57 PM

Congrats on the sale Mike!
