Not lookin' good boys...... Jen wants me to keep the boat and buy a Z-06. WTF! :angry-smiley-038:

She's probably right.............as they always THINK they are!

Scot here s way into a bigger boat, Inexpensively and still have great history.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o38070-en.html

This boat is just about being given away at this price.

Best of both worlds has three man and a back seat. It could easily be converted to a full pleasure cabin and two front bolsters.

you could trade him that camaro you dont even want anymore and spend NOTHING!

30ctsutphen 02-18-2011 08:51 PM

heres some more info on the SUTPHEN in the classifieds

"You have to remember that my boat was built for a team that put Sutphen on the map as far as racing back in the day.

They took much more time putting it together then a standard boat. It was built with one purpose in mind.
It does have a cabin but not finished off & has a rear seat.

It is lighter & balanced perfect. The bottom is blueprinted. The X dimension is where it should be for speed & handling.

Everyone who has been in it is amazed at the way it runs & handles..... There is a reason why.......The way it was built.

When it had the 550hp engines it went about 93 mph.

It is basically like a stock car, bare bones ready to kick azz on the race course. "

Really a Corvette? Aren't those things for fat bald guys in there 60's? You can wait another 10 years for that car, now saddle up cowboy and buy a boat. Oh yeah I think Jen has way to much decision making power. She might be concerned that with a bigger boat you will pull another bartender out of Claudious

I hear you Frank. I'm intentionally trying not to just rush into something just to have a boat for the first warm day of spring. I'd rather hold out for something I really want and get it at a decent price rather than buy something I'm going to end up selling 6 months from now (and possibly take equally as long or longer to sell) and lose my shirt on it.

Honestly, I've had a sale pending for the past couple of weeks. We were just waiting for the owner to fix a couple of items before the sale, but I think he forgot to take his meds this weekend and out of the blue he made up completely new terms with our deal which added significantly to the price. I'd rather not get into the details yet, but it looks like I'm back on the hunt. Earlier I promised him I'd give feedback here regarding our transaction (good or bad) so you'll hear all about it soon. The ****ty thing is I missed a boat in the mean time I would have liked to have bought. Oh well.

It looks like my PR person Kevin already answered your questions, but yes, I will keep whatever I buy at my house. I live right next to the boat ramp so obviously trailering isn't a big deal since I can practically see the ramp from my house. But for this reason, any boat I buy pretty much needs to have an aluminum trailer, or I have to add replacing the trailer to the overall cost of the deal.

Anyway, back to the hunt!

Justin, I wish I had 5775'S !!!! That some' b!tch would run 85 no problem! I think you meant 572's and no Im not concerned about the river up my way(Middletown). I AM concerned about Old Saybrook area as the police there a lookin for boats like mine. But, it is what it is. I can shut 1 engine down through OS if need be. If I get a ticket, Ill pay it . ....Why, did you think it was loud? :)

Oh, PS, Im still waiting for Scot to post the video he took when we all were at Harbor Park....in November! C'mon Scot, it would be nice to see some running video of my boat since its only been in the water once!

30ctsutphen 02-21-2011 06:35 PM

That boat thunders I cant believe your not gonna run silent choice or something on it. I would get sick of that DRONE in no wake zones but Id wanna hear it on cross sound runs for sure.

4195 02-21-2011 08:17 PM

Scot I am pulling for you. It will happen and good for you not just jumping in something you may have for years.

4195 02-21-2011 08:23 PM

kev are you planning on keeping that arc on the river in Middletown? I don't even think there's room to turn it around, not to mention the gas it will cost you to come down river. Get that barge to Old Saybrook area. Scot do you have room for 2 or 3 in your drive way?

4195 02-22-2011 06:13 AM

Scot check out the Bullet that just got listed in the classifieds. The boat is in Long Island and is only 1/3 your budget. The boat appears to be clean and will probably run 75mph with no big maintenance requirements. I know you are looking for something bigger and faster just thought it looked liked a decent deal. Actually maybe Jeff would interested, we could strap a greenhouse to the deck for him for wind protection. Seriously though someone may be interested I bet this boat could be bought for $35-38k. Heck Kreed buy it and drop your power in it and do a 100mph you are gonna have to keep up with Jay Fan's new Gladiator:party-smiley-004:

Whoooo. That Gladiator is sweet, but I think Jay is just bored on line. If he buys that boat, his and Jens first dinner at Claudios is on Nellie. There it is......

Looks like the Bullet has been updated. I like it. The boat is clean and needs 700's :) Great boat for Jayfan or Justin. These boats are under estimated......Jay could prolly get this boat with the cash he carries around on a daily basis, dont let him fool you.

You just made my morning Jeff! I love the Drone! Maybe I could incorp the word "Thunder" into the boat name? If I didnt love the rediculous noise, I would have a twin outboard boat. You see the new 550 HP outboard motor introduced at the Miami boat show?

That's what I keep suggesting. Money well spent IMO. Kev seems to think he's going to trailer it back and forth this year to save on gas, but I suspect that will get old real quick. I understand Romeo likes to wine and dine with the wife after work in Middletown, but he could do the same in OS. Let's face it Kev, you want to be out in the Sound or at the southern end of the river with that ark (where the action is), not hang around Middletown with it! Let that bit@h eat!

BTW, no more room at my place, sorry! I have two neighbors that have big yards, but one of the two decided they were going to start a mini vinyard in their open lot. The other might let you park your boat there if you sweet talked her and show her some green. Before you get any ideas though, she's about 80 so bring your A game! :D

What's up Jay???? :evilb: I dont know if you're talking about the non-staggard in TN, but if so I KNOW they want to move it bad and would likely work an okay deal on a trade. ;)

Kevin back in a Bullet????

Your exactly right Kev......I'M BORED!!!!!! I have been talking to Pier 57 but can't quite nail down a complete deal. They won't include the damn trailer the boat sits on???? WTF! So....no deal. :angry-smiley-038:

I love the looks of the Gladiator (reminds me of a Vette on water), but I really really don't like that it doesn't have any sort of a cabin. Where the hell do you put all your f'n gear????

I'm like Scot....... I'm not going to rush into anything just to rush. If it's meant to be it's meant to be! :drink:
