If your going to use it off a pier, theres only 2 ropes that hold air dock to pier. If you were in a slip, it would be 4 lines(2 per side) It puts no stress on dock as its a floating set-up.

I have a 2010 Checkmate 2400BRX with a Mercury 300XS. I know it is not ideal but like you I keep my boat in salt water all season. I live on the water and want to be able to walk out my back door, jump in the boat and turn the key. The bottom paint works pretty well. Boat sits in the water from late April through October with no adverse effects. The engine tilts out of the water so that really is not an issue and I flush it each time I use it. As a result I get a lot of use out of my boat, much more so than if I had to launch it each time I used it. I have looked into lifts but for me it really is not worth the hassle and cost.
