Haverstraw Bay Park Launch Ramp Info.
this is a county park and county parks close at dark - i spoke with one of the park rangers - he figures you would have to be back by about 6pm - 6:30PM. sunset 17th is 6:12pm They lock a gate by entrance and your vehicle would be locked in until the morning. He also said that if you have a big boat (over 40') you should bring some 2x6 type wood he has seen long trailers bottom out as trailer goes down the ramp. the parking is excellent the park is beautiful ive used this ramp many times - very easy - very wide - with nice docks low tide sat 17th is at 7:48AM. is you have a heavy ass- id wait an hour later at least. 5 min boat ride to stony point marina also if any boaters are brother ELKS - we have a lodge on water with guest docks nearby. i live in the area and can probably answer most boating questions ref ramp and area can call anytime - jeff 914-391-3161 http://rocklandgov.com/departments/e...traw-bay-park/ |

Fatherb68...... I just recieved a call from John Esposito at Stony Point Marina........ He asked if you can give him a call. He asked about the helicopter and some small details. The number he is at is (845) 429-0100................ very nice guy and has been very helpful to me regarding bringing my boat in a few days early.........

I would love to join you guys, sounds like you will have a great turnout, but my son has a college football game. If you guys get rained out on Saturday, I would like to jump in on Sunday. My wife and I are going to launch from Stony Point Bay Marina tomorrow and head North on the river for a bit. Any do's or do nots I need to know about?

I did not read all the posts, But the best ramp north of liberty is Haverstraw marine and you drive right by it to get to stony point. Kept my fountain there for years, deep water low and high tide.No mud like stony point. Tell the dock boy you might get back late and they will leave the chain unlocked to the ramp. Have a safe and fun day

I'm in for helicopter and pics, if you come up short on money I'll kick in extra . It's well worth having Tim shoot from a chopper. Hey Tim can I twist your arm again for some video coverage? :)

If John Esposito is the contact or owner of the the marina, we would need him to authorize and notify any town officials about landing at the marina. It was not an issue last time we landed there but the town should be made aware we would be landing. |
Sorry I didn't post. Brian, go to stony point. There will be plenty of people to help.that's the idea. Everyone is there to help and get all the boats in by 11.
