Just a heads up to the guys that don't primarily boat on the Hudson River.....I was on this river as a kid in my fathers boat. The Hudson has all kinds of things floating in it. Just keep your eyes open. As a kid a boat from the marina came in after hitting a railroad tie. It sent his inboard prop thru the bottom of the hull. On Labor Day this year I just missed a telephone pole that was about 1" below the surface of the water. Common to see sticks and logs so just a heads up

I second that, I was out last Sunday testing the boat north of West Point in the narrows and almost nailed a 16-18' telephone pole. It was water logged but still floating just below the surface. There out there, so be safe and keep it in the back of your mind!
