Thanks for the info but that information was about straight 6 engines for cars and trucks I’m in the market for an in-line 6 marine engine that I won’t have to research and find parts to transfer into a vehicle case to make it marine ready.

Finding a donor engine could be a challenge, especially if you want more power. In the automotive world the straight six is a great power plant, lots of torque but don't spin it too high. If you are selling the existing engine to increase the power, you will probably need to look to the automotive side for upgrade options. I don't think too many people in the marine world have done much hp improvements to them since the 70's if even then.
Or you could be really outside the box and a bit nuts and put a turbo on the existing engine and see if you can destroy the drive!

Another dumb question earlier I was calling the lower end an Altima why I couldn’t remember Alfa one outdrive, but anyways back to the dumb question the gas has been sitting in the boat for about two years I was told, the gas gauge says that it is three quarters full I’m not sure with the tank being that full if I really need to drain it and change it, and if I do need to do so would anyone have a guesstimate on how many gallons a 22’ boat would hold?

Ya I wouldn’t try running that fuel, about all it’s good for is cleaning parts. I would just hook the feed line to another hose and run it out the bilge drain hole. Start filling containers, once one is full pinch line with vise grips to stop the flow

No offense MA but these forums are dedicated to offshore performance boats. This crowd normally talk stern racing motors (i.e. 525’s, 700’s, etc) and occasionally performance outboards.

questions regarding 6 cylinder 2.7L and alpha drives are foreign to us. I would recommend other boat forums (I.e. iboats, hulltruth, etc) or Facebook.

Again don’t take this the wrong way. Not trying to a d-bag. But this probably isn’t the right place. Good luck. Hope you find the info your are looking for...
