Default Engine swap

Hello all, I just put my mercury tower of power up for sale and I did this so I may be able to upgrade the mercury 165 on the HiLiner 222 does anyone know what I can replace the 165 with I want to keep it inboard out board, I’m thinking something along the chris craft or sea ray Line might have a direct bolt in mercury. Any help greatly appreciated.

you really need to proof read your posts and try to make it clear what you’re asking. All I’ve got from your last 2 posts is you want to put a 4.3 in a Nissan Altima? And that you sold a straight 6 merc outboard of antique vintage

The 165 is an inline 6 motor...not matter what you go to, anything other than another inline 6 will require you to do a bit of work to retrofit it. New motor mounts...new bell-housing to bolt up to transom assembly, possibly different wiring harness etc....its not going to be a direct swap and call it a day kind of situation....

Ok cool so stay with an in-line six, bayliner ran with inline sixes in the 90s right.
