I live here. It’s not that bad anymore. They have relaxed some. Performance boats are showing back up. Keep them halfway quiet, don’t drive like a Jack ass , and you’ll be okay. Obviously, all of Saturday and 1/2 of Sunday not a good time to be Ricky Racer.

Can you qualify your statement? I am anxious to hear what has really changed since the rules were imposed.

Mufflers required?
Don't appear to go faster than 45?
Avoid the weekends?
Don't drive like a jackass? Is this a good idea on any body of water?

Lake George is gorgeous but the noise ordinance will never allow your boat there. I've being hearing good things about Seneca Lake though.

I'm really interested in checking out Seneca! Any suggestions on reasonably priced places to stay that are speed boat friendly?

No speed limit on center of lake. I forget what distance from shoreline. Show boat hotel is popular with docks.
Go check out the all the waterfalls there are some awsome hikes right up the center of the creek and gorges, plenty of wineries too.
Don't go to close to naval station right in center of lake.
They don't like that.
Toagannock falls, Glen Falls are the most popular

We visited Seneca Lake on the 15th-17th for a couple of days of boating before heading to Thousand Islands, loved it! We stayed at the Seneca Lake Resorts/ Sampson State Park. That Saturday was our anniversary so we ran the boat over to Belhurst Castle for a nice dinner with some friends. The marina at the park worked out very well! Nice ramp and new docking slips.

We're planning on going back to the lake for a long Labor Day weekend. We're going to stay at The Showboat this time.
