He keeps a pretty good pace whether you're here or not but the next time you're in town lunch is on me. Just don't pick a day I'm having surgery. Next one is Aug 18 so come the following week.

I was just wondering how wide are the tunnels on your 39's?

Are they all the same width or did they vary somewhat as they prgressed.

And what if any are the different design changes form older ones to the last year they where made?

Ive noticed the different style hatches and the direction that they open but thats about it.

Thanks
AL

The width of the tunnel greatly affects the ride of the boat. Skater cuts some their boats in half and makes the boat wider to give the boat a better ride.

My hatches open forward which is my choice. They used to open sideways and found that they were hard to work on the motors. I can remove my motors without removing the hatches.

Wider tunnel = More Air= Better ride.

What are the effects of the extended tunnel?

I also read on a 32 skater they extended not only the width but the" length " of the tunnel just like your 39's.

From what you say wider is better so I would imagine that extra length can only add to the effects of a better ride.?

If thats the case how come all cats arent extended?
Or is it that the extra length in the tunnel add so little to performance gains that its not worth it?

Thank you again
AL.

If you look at a MTI, they are extended too. This also acts like a trim tab at high speed to keep your nose level.

The orginal design on the Ocean Express is for a steering rudder.
