Those damn pesky paying customers are starting to take up to much of my time, but we have continued to move forward. Before I purchased this boat I came on OSO and asked if anybody knew any history on it but never got a reply. I knew there was a bottom issue on the starboard rear sponson, we dug into and found a mess. The balsa coring had been replaced by gluing it in with Liquid Nails. They also smeared Liquid Nails on the bottom side of the balsa to hold the 4 layers of mating before adding epoxy resin that never hardened. We ground around the perimeter of the "repair" and it all fell out. I must thank however did "it" because removal time was easy and fast.

GlassDave recognized the boat as Randy Linebach of Airborne Marine's personal boat. A search shows a thread on Speedwake that verifies it was his but no history of it after his passing.

I have some leftover liquid nails from the drywall in my basement. Your welcome to it if you need it.

Wow this is why I am here to talk about this same problem.I came here to talk about this same issue.I have the same boat but about a decade newer and my transom is glass with wood in it.My boat guy says the transom is rotten and it looks like this is the case.A little bit disapointed with ocean express for using so much wood. The transom is almost out. But anyways we are going to put in new boards and change the entire transom with martex or marfex of something like that boards. They new boards are fiber boards that have no wood. So I was seeing you replace your transom with wood and feeling sick to my stomoch beccause that will end up like mine in the future and mine is more new and it had this problem. I wish someone from the Ocean Express company would join the converation to say why the things are how they are with wood.

are other parts of the hull wood or only the transom

but your boat does look nice
