I swear I don't see that happening. It would be great but there is so much resistance from the homeowners in that area.I have a Shrimp permit to drag in the river and we were trying to get that territory back and we had jaguar players, old ladies and a bunch of other people that didn't have a clue about the facts that didn't won't us on their river. My family started a town here in 1886,these people move here to retire and whine about everything. The Manatee issue will be the killer. That was one of their main reasons we couldn't drag.
I showed them the Leatherback Turtle shooters we have to pull. They have a excape hole big enough to shoot 2 manatees in a Volkswagon thur it and they still complained. We lost.

I hope there will be a race.I raced C-class OS in 90-91 and we did good ."Full Throttle" C98.It was alot of fun.Hope they can make it happen here.Lonnie

Here's an idea. Perhaps they can race "Offshore" at the beach instead of in the river. Yeah, I know there is a very long idle to get out to the ocean, but it beats no race at all.

They have raced there before. It's no different than New Symyrna Beach or when we raced out of Ft.Apache.Theres a little run to the race site but when I raced I was just happy to be there. The city has a much better ramp/pit site then they did the last time they raced in the ocean. They use it for the King Fish Tournament and restrict it to only boats entered.Pretty big place. The good thing about Nas Jax is it more spectator friendly if the military will let everybody on the waterfront and close along the perimeter for the specator fleet. What sucks is the last race on the beach going by boat sucked. They made us stay so far back you couldn't read the #'s on the boats with telescope.Whatever A race is better than No race.
