Map on home page shows OSS race in jacksonville this weekend ? is this true?

yeah, they( the promoters, not O S S) didnt get the permits done in time. we were looking foward to our return to jax. maybe next year

Damn Sharkey,thats what I wanted to know,Or didn't want to know.I knew it was coming but hadn't seen any publicity about it lately.I miss it and thought I would get a fix but no cigars. know why? Probably had something to do with our screwed up politics here.

I know there has been some reallignment with the Coast Guard. When it comes to the Permits, I think it needs to be submitted 160 days prior to the event. In the past, once in awhile you had a little leeway, but now they are holding to their 160 day deadline. If it isn't submitted, it' isn't even going to be looked at.
I have no 1st hand knowledge of what happened in the case of Jacksonville, but if it was permits, that is my guess as to why....

I Was Hoping To See The Race This Weekend I Was Also Getting Excited Thinking People Were Going To Get Back In To Boating Up Here

The Promotors Are Trying To Go With Labor Day Weekend. The Problem Is With The F.w.c. They Want Their Precious Manatees Protected. The Race Is Scheduled In Front Of Nas Jax. With The Military Wanting To Participate. Lets Hope For The Best.
