IRMA THOMAS KICKS OFF THE 1ST ANNUAL
AL COPELAND MEMORIAL POWERBOAT RACES
Legendary Soul Queen of New Orleans Irma Thomas kicks off the Al Copeland Memorial Powerboat Races with two exciting events!
Friday, August 1st, Ms. Thomas headlines The Big Bash Party at The Landmark Hotel, featuring an open bar and world renowned cuisine from Copeland’s of New Orleans, Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro and Copeland’s Sweet Fire & Ice. The Bucktown All Stars and “Elvis” will join Ms. Thomas. The Big Bash also features an incredible assortment of auction items and all proceeds will help fund cancer research towards a cure for Merkel Cell Carcinoma.
At 2 o’clock on Saturday, August 2nd, Ms. Thomas will sing the National Anthem as over 25 powerboats roar on Lake Pontchartrain for two days of exciting powerboat racing! Racing will be August 2 and August 3 at Laketown Park in Kenner next to Treasure Chest Casino. Admission is $10 for a one day pass, $15 for a two day pass and $20 for a three day pass. VIP tickets are available for $80 for adults and $10 for kids.
Race Village opens Friday – come take pictures of the boats and the drivers! All race admission tickets are available at the gate August 1, 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
