OSS considers themselves THE premier racing organization. They usually only allow closed canopy boats and only allow Mercury racing engines, since they are owned and operated by Mercury racing. They usually only draw a small handful of boats, unless they allow another smaller group to join their events. OSS rarely allows amateurs to join their races. That would be beneath them.

What are your talking about? OSS may not have the largest boat count but they run a very professional ship (so to say) and as far as Mercury only motors ?? Thats far from accurate, just look at the SVL class.. :lolhit:
b. The Mercury Racing 525 EFI Sealed Engine and the Innovation Vortec HP3 Sealed Engines are the only current production engines approved for use in SVL. Doesn't that limit the fleet to 3 boats? Randy, Steve, and Jim Simmons? It also appears that all of the "National Classes" are Merc products also. Only P Class is open to all builders. |
I thought the 750 class was open to Sterling Motors - mybad.

It does sound like they have the approval to close down Bagnell Dam to all traffic to allow a spot for spectators. I'd think that there would need to be some pretty sound backing for the DOT to agree to that. I am thinking that it will be happening.
I'd put $100 bill on Ameran & DOT not letting the dam be used for spectators! Only reason I say that is that I have family that works for Ameran..."not a meter reader either..lol" when asked about it at our little New Years get together he said NO WAY!! Huge liability!! They probably will close the dam down...but they do that for parades and alot of other stuff too for traffic reasons! |
