Oh brother ......here we go. But then again, it will definately make for an interesting & exciting season  You're gonna be one hell of a busy boy this summer.

Bilgerat 12-27-2007 10:43 AM

Gonna be using that yellow boat? Looks like it has a P3 on it??

2 Trick Rick 12-27-2007 11:19 AM

Class 4 should be stacked next year with 9-12 boats at each race !!

Should be good...

1waterboy1 12-27-2007 11:42 AM

Great to see another team from Long Island making a comeback! It is begining to remind me of the old US Offshore days, when the fleet was often dominated by teams from Long Island.JC,you Louie, and the other guys have done an awesome job in helping to create interest in our sport out there again.

Lucididee 12-27-2007 11:45 AM

I can't wait to see the team uniforms! :cool-smiley-011:

Well then, I guess he will dominate in class 5. The title of this thread is Racin P4. Last I checked, P4 was 85.

MANITIE 12-29-2007 10:01 AM

Sorry....I ment 85.....I forgot that JC would be putting something a little bigger in there then the 525...if he puts in a 700 hp...it could get ugly...that boat already has great acceleration....

BRUCE SEROFF 12-29-2007 10:08 AM

You know as well as I do, Its tough to stay in those 27s. Ask BJ. Personally, I think runnin a 27 in P4 is suicide, but I welcome the competition.

MANITIE 12-29-2007 10:15 AM

the only time we had any close calls were taking sharp turns...but with the extra HP....it will be easier to chop down the throttles make the turn and get back on it....it will be interesting to see it run aginst the 34 footers....but in the calmer waters....they will be tough to beat....

also with OPA having half calm water races and the other half big water races...it makes for great compitition....but yes...in 4 to 6 footers at 85....thats going to be a ride....

ALL IN 12-29-2007 10:56 AM

hey race girl just picked up fresh strawberries just have to add the special stuff inside them.i am gonna try hard for st. clair and a few others.happy new year to all!!!

Wazzup Racing 12-29-2007 12:49 PM

I raced against that 27 three years ago in NY. P3, they kicked my A@@, till it had a mech gremlin slow it down. Then again that was with Curtis in it. Good luck class 4

2 Trick Rick 12-29-2007 02:05 PM

I have 2 sets of props, One runs my boat at 83/85 and the other 90/92... ??????

Should be a fun year. http://www.getsmileyface.com/sm/evil/593.gif

MOBILEMERCMAN 12-30-2007 06:51 PM

Bilge Rat, Is that Extreme Motion from Tenn race? If it is that was Art Lilly and his son's debut race. I heard they kicked butt that weekend.

I didn't think you had it over 50mph? Did you have someone else run it for you?

I had it going almost 100mph in towing it back from Florida. :D

Bilgerat 12-31-2007 06:46 PM

Mobilemercman, yes it is that boat with Art Lilly in it, Are you familiar with the boat?? Seems as though its about the same as Hometown Mortgage boat that ran class 3 with a 525, and also comparable to Octane and Simply Awesome that ran class 4 also with 525's. I know that the Mocean has a big motor and i know it is turning a speedmaster not exactly apples for apples but wouldn't one think it is more of a class 3 boat. as evidenced by the breakouts in Cambridge? and check out the average lap speed record in Chattanooga on the closed course. Definitely going well over 85 to obtain that average. "kicked butt" ???

Jc Perf were you driving the beutifull Activator in Patchogue race, the silver one with killer flames and graphics on it? That is a bad a$$ Boat.

EZ 01-01-2008 09:10 AM

Well yet another huge hp single in 4 class .Sorry guys in 4 class i think Scott and I might have to keep up with the Jones and see if Tyler could build us a 900 efi just to place .That would be competion right Bruce?? :(:(

EZ, Your drive wont take much more power. The HP war is out of controll and dont even know if your boat could hang in P5 any more. Like they said its locked in for 3 years no matter what. :Whatever:
MD

EZ 01-02-2008 05:03 AM

Dry sump 6 and 900 efi that would be one Phatt Phantom comoonn Randy

This is the last year before they can change the rules. Then everyone will have to run my 525 efi in every class. Outboards will require a special adapter.

That boat did run like h&!l in Cambridge, due to was set up to run at max plus. In Chatt, Art took it to his magic shop and dialed it in to do what the rules required. In testing,it would never go past 85mph. If the chip was removed or a higher one put in it would run more. But that what it's about, staying in your bracket. Lots of boats are more than able to break out if adjustment are changed. Also there is the balls or experience that the team running the boat has. I feel most of the races are won in the turns, all are able to hit there top speed in the straights but some can bust ass in the turns where others must slow way down.

Side note on that boat...............it is for sale!!!!!

I could be wrong here, but wasn't class 4 dominated by phantoms all with either 500 hp's or 525's ? There will be no huge power crushing classes. There are a number of teams that will be stepping up this year. They just dont know it yet. You ran well in that class, for your first year of racing, in the Phantom. Hang in there. Smitty

I like that..."What They said." Randy, you voted, to lock the rules, not me. Why is it the minute something does not work in your favor, it's time to change things? Whatever
