Funny as always.....I must be in LA-LA land.....becasue I thought MI, NY, NJ, MD, TN would be National.....but look at it this way....Regional is bigger then National....I was also not aware that teams like TKO, Team Extreme and some of the other open cockpit boats like the one Art Lilly raced in last year......are feeder class's.......Art Lilly racing in a feeder class......now thats a good one....maybe one day he will be ready to move up to SVL........

I am sorry that some of the racers feelings were hurt buy these comments in the mag. I will ask Ron not to mention the OPA series in the future. I believe his comments were based on years of past racing history. Example would be that when APBA had spec racing and P class racing the P class was always referred to as the feeder classes that most teams started out in and eventually moved to a more traditional style of WOT racing with spec rules. It was never ment to hurt anyones feelings it was just how APBA promoted the series. Also APBA had a national series that traveled the US which covered the North ,South and East coast. Its regional classes were the North East,South,West and Great Lakes and at the end of the year we all meet at the Worlds together. I believe thats how Ron was trying to explain it. Over the last 5 years things have changed in offshore racing and it should be addressed on how Organizations are described to the media. It is apparent that the word "feeder" is a bad choice of words now and being called Regional or National is another hot spot. I have had several people question the term Pro -Am racing as well. If this term is demeaning to some of you what would you like to be called. I promise you all I will bring this up this Thur. on the board call in OSS. What do you want to be called? Pro Stock,Manufacture,P-class,Unlimited or something along that line?
Lets try to work threw some of these issues to close the gap!

How about OPA Offshore Racing? Nice, Simple. Now Randy, come on. OPA's guy's are all hard working offshore boat racers...words can't hurt their feelings! Gap closed a little.
