OPA Racers Please Take a SURVEY
Looking to see if the Media for offshore racing needs improvement. Racers and Fans, please share your thoughts
Any additional comments may be made in a post and will be taken in consideration for a possible improvement of the media for the OPA Racers
- What is likely you would spend more $$$ on Video or Stills ?
- Would you prefer a combination of Video & Stills in a DVD Format?
- Do you prefer an onboard camera on your boat ?
- Would you prefer to rent or own your recording equipment?
- Still Photos: Do you prefer your boat only or w/ competition in the same shot?
- Would you prefer Digital Files over a print of a still photo?
- Do you feel you are getting enough coverage of your team?
- Do you feel the Media Coverage is too costly for the Racers ?

Th eonly way that this sport will ever make it is if we all race together wuth one set of rules and the same common gole and that is to race our boats with the samr power to weight ratio as well as the same engine configuration not these Turbine to piston classes because they are stupid.this sport needs to stop being I have money and I can do what I want to being about competitio0n period.Boat races with 20 or 30 boats is stupid and a waiste of time,we need boat counts now more than ever, with a crappy economy as well as un employment rate ,RON P what do u think.at an all time high,we need to all be on the same page or get out

For those of you that prefer to own your own video equipment, here is a helpful link:
http://www.vio-pov.com/index.php
For what it may cost to rent, you could probably own your own equipment for the price of 2 to 3 races and you own your video footage.
I would also like to see what BLAZE is using. He shot a video with 2 cameras on his twin outboard cat that came out great !
http://www.vimeo.com/4344533
I will be seeing him this weekend for Mahopac Marine's NY Hudson River Fun Run that i will be shooting for Performance Boats Magazine.

Well it seems many are interested in owning their own equipment. I just found out what the guy was using on the Hudson for his onboard camera:
"It's a Go Pro Wide---way cool comes w/several mounts--usb cord and everything you need xcept a memory card and batts.--runs on 2-aaa batts and requires a 2 gb memory card. I had it on for 45 min w/more left--- also takes stills every 2 or 5 secs--bought it on amazon for $139.00!"
Who would have thought that the equipment could be so inexpensive...
For that kind of money and you own your video footage !!!
