Thanks Randy. And you would win that bet.

Its not always about the fastest boat. Our boat will run 75mph on its best day.Stock 525hp reliability got us a world championship.Wait til next year when I take the bed, sink and toilet out. Then you class 5 guys are in big trouble. As most of the class 5 guys have seen we have to run that boat on the edge to keep up,isnt that what its all about?

I dont have the right to speak about what happens out side of class five, but, my two cents are this. Have two class 4s, one for twins with a 39 foot cap. The other for singles. Both 4s would be 80 mph. Bring 2 back as 100, because Bull may be a cat, but its a 32 foot boat...105 is haulin. 3 come back as 90. Itd take a lot to make that apache run 95, and it be haulin. 5,6 and 1 are great. But then again....some rough water would even all this out...

Bring back class 2 as it was in 08 at 105 that 32 is at least a class 2 boat . Dont forget we ran the bandit skater that year and had a blast and won a rough water race in point pleasant. We are currently repowering the 38 bad boy and would love to race class two again.

What about leaving the classes essentially the same, require canopies in Class 1, bring back Class 2 , and add a 38FT length limit for Class 4.I think the step down effect is hurting Class 3 and Class 4.Merge some spec classes into bracket classes unless there are five boats.
EXTREME CAT
SUPER CAT
CLASS 1 TO 115MPH CANOPIED...merge SCL
CLASS 2 TO 105MPH...merge SV
CLASS 3 TO 95MPH
CLASS 4 TO 85MPH/38FT...merge SVL
CLASS 5 TO 75MPH/30FT SINGLE INBOARD (TWIN OUTBOARD,TWIN SMALL BLOCK INBOARD GRANDFATHERED)
CLASS 6 TO 70MPH/26FT SINGLE INBOARD

My vote is here!! Very simple!!

The key to it is to allow Smitty to keep putting boats in the right classes. He has done a pretty good job so far. We don't need SVs running C4, rediculous HP in a class, or unfair hull match ups.

Personally, I don't feel it is fair to run a Cat with equal or higher HP against Vee Hulls. I believe that they should always run one Classe higher. That is why modern Super Stock boats should run C2 and 32'+ Skaters with big blocks and alike should run C1.

I also believe that any class other than 1-6 should have to have at least 2 boats to run or you move to 1-6.

Could you please fill me in on our issues? Besides some personal differences(off the race course) between some of the racers, I was very pleased with how Class 4 was handled and operated by OPA in 2010.

No one team dominated class 4, like in past years. The boats we have in that class are all competitive. I vote we leave it alone.

First off, it will not be allowed to run 4. Ask OPA why. Its not fair to legit class 4 boats. Chiro 1 should bump up to 3 as well.

secondly, even if it was allowed, it would kill the class. open boats cannot compete with canopied boats of the equal size and power. Thats like a SVL running class 5. Aint gonna happen.

If we bring back class 2, there should be no problem.

So help me understand why Chiro One needs to be bumped to class 3. The best that boat has seen all year was 86mph and based on your input it needs to go to a 95mph class. We did well in the small chop of patchogue and got destroyed in the flat water in St. Claire. Seems pretty evenly balanced. Your real Brilliant!!

Mark,

Pot Kettle Black.

Simmons was the big dog in our class for years(way before you came on the scene), I came out with a boat that would be competitive with him, nothing more nothing less. His boat is a former F2 boat as is the boat we campaign. I have no intention of having the powers that be create a class for me. You have a spec class that your boat easily fits into, unfortunately, I dont have that luxury and I brought a boat to race in a class that was originally built around a 38' with twin 750's in it.

Best of luck to you in your racing career

what class do you plan to run next year

YOUR BOAT IS A 94 MPH boat ALL DAY LONG, just because u guys dont know how to drive it u are at 86 !!!!

IT SHOULD BE A CLASS 3 BOAT 100% !!!!!

mine with the new engine is a class 5 boat, and they let me run class 4 ...cool ..what u say about that.
A 78 MPH 30 footer against a 41 foot 94 MPH boat in the same class !!!!!! i guess u win...lol

OH..and i am either for 80 MPH class 4 or single engine only 85 MPH !!!!!!!! either works for me ....now to work and get the boat faster to kick some ass...mmmhhhhh
