In bracket racing the way I see it is build a boat that on its best day can go 5-7 MPH over the class you want to race in. Then you are in the right class. I see Cotner Trailers win championships in class 6 with the smallest motor in there class. I bet they couldnt break 77 MPH on there best day. Yet they win being well prepared. I have a stock 525 in my class 5 boat and always feel I have a shot. Max speed on my boat best case is 84 MPH. Class 4 has Simmons with stock 500 merc's and SVL with single 525. which max out at 92 MPH on there best days. In all these classes there are boats with much bigger power that should kick a$$ but the teams are the difference in the end. Class 6,5 and 4 are all good in my book. I look forward to being the underdog with less power in the classes I race in. Winning or putting up a good fight with less means more to me. And dont think for a minute that fans dont understand you are the underdog and you are up for the battle. I think you will gain more respect beating Goliath than him beating you. Moral of the story is man up beotch.

oK than..
C1 = 117mph C2 = 105.7mph C3 = 93mph C4 = 82.5mph C5 = 72mph C6 = 55.9mph My point was to make it a easy 10mph increments, just as easy for the hardcore offshore fans as the casual fan. |

It wasnt meant to be takin like that, Im not into trash talking. But c'mon, If you combined all the class 6 boats with most of the class 5 boats would it be a fair race even at 70? No.
No one boat is perfect for every water or condition, but that's racing. |

Didn't a 26 Corsa race OPA class 4? How did that 26 Joker do?

I heard from a rival source that Bull on the Beach will not be racing class 3 next year.

Id still like to know why you think the two most popular classes in OPA need to be changed?
I think having a 70 and 75mph class is kind of the same thing. |
