You are way out of line here.We have broken out a number of times since the current GPS tracking system was introduced back in 2006;including in Solomons Island,MD which cost us the race and the National High Points Championship in Class 5.We were very disapointed,but the scoring sheets confirmed that we did break out.We have also had a number of good finishes by running right on the edge of the 75MPH class limit.We have checked the accuracy of the OPA GPS units against on board,hand held and wrist GPS units.They are very accurate.OPA rules have even built in a small tolerance for spikes.The bottom line is that the system works. Frank does an oustanding job in what is no doubt a thankless position.OPA has a great group of VOLUNTEER OFFICIALS...we should thankful that they give up thier time to support our sport;I know I am.

I like a entry level idea, but not a specific class for it. Make a one time discount and loaner GPS for anyone who races in 1 race in any class, not eligible for prize money or points, only trophy. This way any guy with a boat that fits 1-6 can try it out. If he likes it, pay full registration for rest of season, minus what he already paid.
If you declare class 6 the "entry level class" you won't have
any boats at some race sites and very few at others.
The current class formula works, we have a good boat count.

To be honest, Smitty may already do it, but I think it is a good idea to give some guys/girls a taste of actual racing without a huge investment.

wonder if they could do a one time deal for the first timers at like half the normal fee then if they return the full fee is due. This would only be avaliable as a one time deal per team/individual or something like that. In other words would nopt be avaliable to those already in the sport that only do one race a year.

I bought tyler a booster seat for christmas so he can see over the dash board. you know thats a problem when your only 4 feet 6 inchs tall.
With extra height now he will be able to see over the dash then maybe he will be able to pass on the right side of the markers.

All of you are getting off the reason of the post i new this would start a fire storm . you are all getting worked up and its only the middle of december you guys will want kill each other or me by spring. but it dosent matter any way because im going to send a proposed change to smitty and augie and they can figure it out thats why they get the big bucks. If they change the rule great if not so be it we will all still be racing in the spring.
