I'm putting my new and improved steering wheel hub on tomorrow. The military fabricator built a newer stonger version and I'm using hardened bolts with the safety wire holes and safety wire. For some reason the new hub is not cracked! LOL

Keep us posted. If it makes you feel any better, I glassed all last summer stiffening the bulkheads, switching to center steering, eliminating the deck hatches and docking lights. So I feel your pain buddy!
