Wow, those old Chris Cat's were a challenge to drive! I'd drive one if in the T-mans seat was either A.) Tres Martin, B.) Jason Saris, C.) Johnny T, D,) Ritchie Powers.

we need to get some rules written down or this is going to get out of hand, Don took his blower off to go from class 4 to 5, now boats run with blowers in 5, Boats grandfathered with #4's now have bravos, conference call years ago elected 500hp for class 6 now look at it, their needs to be some written parameters so people can build boats for the class not the other way around

IE drive lets say class 5 or 6 Bravo or TRS there is no advantage to a TRS no speedies done simple and your not cutting boats out that are here now.
Power wise you are going to have a problem because the only way to regulate that is dyno and seal people dont have the money for that and that can be fudged .
Blowers - limit the size to say a b-m 250 or even merc 420 for class 5 and really there is no advantage to a blower if you make huge tq the bravo is not going to like it and the TRS even less.
Just some food for thought.

Some additional food for thought:
I don't think it is OPA's responsibility to make every boat competitive. There are currently 6 bracket classes that cover most types of hulls & power. Most boats have a class to race in, however, it is up to the teams to make their boat fit a class, not the other way around.

This is true i think what edie would like to see more of the unwritten rules put down in black and white there are a few gray areas that should be firm and it really would not change things IE trs in class -6 for a example that has been bounced around a quite a bit.
