OPA:Thanks for offering CLASS 7
We would like to thank OPA for offering CLASS 7; and the three other race teams; WOAH MAMA, MOLSON MUSCLE and TOASTY; that worked very hard over the last couple of weeks so that they could be in Atlantic City. The other race teams also helped us get our boat ready! We had a blast; and plan to be at as many races as possible. We are also excited to hear that there are a number of other boats in the works for CLASS 7.

It is a great class for someone who wants to get on the racecourse without spending a boatload of cash....Just ask Henderson. But just because it is affordable doesn't mean the competition isn't fierce. They were great to watch in AC!

Congrats to the Teams of Class 7 for making your 1st race at Atlantic City !!!

Awesome first outing for Class 7. Psyched to see this class back out there again and the talks of more entries is even making it better. Congrats to all that made it happen.
|
Are you guys running in St. Clair?
|
You guys had just as much fun and racing as everyone out there, but at a fraction of the price. Now THAT is good racing!
|
For me its about family, friends and camaraderie, though 779 suffered fuel delivery issues early, it was an absolute blast to race the small portion of the course we ran. What a fun class. I echo Marks thoughts, and continue to strive for a safe, fun and fast season.
lets grow class 700 Many Thanks |
It looks like there will be at least two more boats that plan to join the CLASS 7 fleet by the Long Beach, NY race! Both of these teams raced in the former US OFFSHORE FACTORY CLASS;so you know that they will be very competitive!
|
I would also like to thank Smitty and OPA for offering this class. I know of a 21 Superboat that will be joining us in Soloman Island. The Superboat is beautiful and the owner doesn't want to break up his boat in an ocean race. He is also building another boat for class 7 for next year! I'm sure there will be some "growing pains", but this is a good problem!
Thanks again Smitty/OPA Bob |

Thanks again Smitty/OPA Bob[/QUO Growing pains in the class is a good thing. When I think about Class 6 and 5 when they all first came about there were small classs and look at them now. I have no doubt that Class 7 will grow into a great class in the future. Thanks to all those who got the ball rolling. Was awesome seeing all of you out there racing in AC. |
Greetings! New to this thread but not to OSO. When will the Class 7 race again and does anybody know if they raced last weekend?
|
No class 7 boats in ST. Clair. They can race anytime they show up.
|
Gonna be in long beach
|
There will be a couple new class 7 boats in Long Beach.

I think that puts class 7 at seven boats-not bad for a new class!
|
Awesome news!! Great to here. He seemed excited when he saw it coming together last weekend in Long Island. Class has so much potential. Not a bad fleet of boats so far at all.

Your Damn Right I am excited DPT Motor Sports Almost as excited when I out ran that pack of wild wolves that was chasing me out of Freeport the last time I saw you. Mark left me on the side of the road for dead. But Mr.Determination searched high and low for years to come up with the right combination to leave the Aquaholic in the Dust Thirsty for a drop of water? :eekdrop: Thanks for the Plug Mork. See Yeah in O. C .

The Class 7 seems to be the new CLASS of the future. Hopefully the 2014 season will find it's way to South Florida so I can enter the competition with my Defender 21' Scout. I firmly believe the new 21' Scout would be fierce competitor and help promote the new upcoming Class 7. Good luck in the upcoming 2014 season !!! I will be out next year . cant wait .
Nice job Mark for getting this class going. Mike |
Is there anyone looking for a class 7 boat? I have a 1993 21ft checkmate looking to sell cheap because i hate the boat and it hates me even more.
Long story shot the engine looses water pressure when on plane. I think the problem is with the low water pickup being restricted because its the only parts not replaced. when the boat is driving at no wake speed or at idle i have 7-9 psi in the head. trailer has all new bunks and tires. Hull is rock stolid with no rot. I wanted to race it but just want it out of my life now. Ill sell it for 4000 obo http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps6f129b3e.jpg http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7e55cab0.jpg http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps34ee4809.jpg |
I have acquired an old 22 velocity, Was a sterndrive boat,, however its rotten everywhere, Is this worth putting in a transom, and some gussets, along with a new floor, to try and compete in the class 7 wars? What engine and steering setup would work best on this? Or is someone else more interested in it than I am. I was trying to focus more on my Corsa. Need to have something racing this year.
