Looks like OPA should really concentrate their energy on trying to put togather a better racing event. The people in Biloxi don't sound like they were impressed. I think you will have a hard time impressing fans at LOTO when most of them have pleasure boats faster then the OPA dinosaur fleet not to mention they seem to have trouble staying out of jail when there is a bar in town. http://smnewsnet.com/archives/79557

While you certainly are entitled to your opinions and have the right to state them, I find it in poor taste to bring up the incident. Obviously, you are not a fan of OPA and that's OK. While I wouldn't consider our 2011 fuel injected boat a dinosaur, I will be the first to admit there are plenty of boats (pleasure and race) that are faster. But speed seems insignificant when 8 or 10 boats are all going into a turn at the same speed with the same intention. |
Well said Rich. Fact is, OPA has more boats in class 6 alone, then SBI did all last season.

There are most certainly some fast pleasure boats at LOTO, but racing a boat on a course is a totally different animal. The organizers did a fantastic job llast year with the inaugural race, and it will be bigger and better this year, especially with the addition onto the OPA circuit. Drag your boat up here, enjoy yourself, kick some ass, and then go home happy with a check in hand! We would all love to see you race! |
Thanks Tango, really cool of you.
