Who the **** are you. Is that why Fountain and Corvette dominate I mean flat out Dominate the race circut. **** custom if you cant win a ****in race. This thread has been done for I dont know how long. So go get your ****in OL and come in behind first place. Just like your pussey ass OL. Im not talkin to anyone else but this guy. Buy what you want OLs are great boats, but they wont ever beat a Fountain in a true race period!!!!!!!! Just like how your Ferrai wont ever beat a Vette.

HELLO LADIES & GENTLEMEN ALSO TO YOU TNOTHIN HEY ONE THING THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH HOW MANY F-1 RACES & WORLD TITLES HAVE CORVETTES WON ? I CAN'T RECALL ANY NOT EVEN THE MIGHTY GM HAS WON ANY F-1 TITLES. FOUNTAIN HAS WON A LOT OF OFFSHORE RACES OF LATE YOUR RIGHT ON THAT POINT BUT WHEN THE OTHER BOAT BUILDERS LOSE INTREST IN THE RACING THERE ISN'T MUCH COMPETION IS THERE I'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO VISIT THE WELLCRAFT FACTORY WHEN THEY WHERE BIULDING SCARABS & ALSO VISIT CIGARETTES FACTORY LAST YEAR & OUTERLIMITS SO FOUNTAIN IS ON THE SAME LEVEL AS WELLCRAFT WHICH ISN'T BAD MY 43 HAS TRIP 1000'S & WILL RUN 105 ON GPS BUT THE QUALITY & CUSTOMIZATION ISN'T IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS OUTERLIMITS OR CIGARETTE. I'M SURE THE CHEAP BEER IS O.K. FOR YOU NOW BUT WHEN YOU GET SOME STYLE & TASTE YOU'LL UNDERSTAND THAT AN EXTRA COUPLE DOLLARS FOR AN IMPORT BEER IS WORTH IT. ALSO I'VE HAD ABOUT 5-6 VETTES & LOVE THEM ALL BUT THEY DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO A FERRARI. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR STYLE & CLASS AS WELL AS PERFORMANCE.

Re: Outerlimit guys

You are all missin my point and what I am sayin. Corvette does not race in F1. They race in the American Le Mans Series. Ever heard of it? Fountain has not just been winning of late they have dominated for the past 20 years back when Reggie him self was racin, at the sametime Chuck Norris Don Johnson and Kurt Russel were racin. Other companies might have lost interest mainly in part probably because they want no part of a Fountain. And I do respect Ferris I love them I would love to have one any day. Quality is definately one thing and OLs might have Fountains beat a little bit in that part same as Ferri over Vette, But my whole point in this is forget the money. Who is first on race day? Corvette wins god damn near every race. Its a dynasty just like Corvette, and the 49ers of the 80s the Steelers from the 70s. You are all missin my point. I agree OLs and Ferris are custom and are unbelievable machines, but flat out Fountains and Vettes win races period. All you guys need to stop taking this **** personaly, to each is own. And then please tell me who invented the step bottom please, and I know for a fact it wasnt Mike Fiore thats for damn sure. Lets put it this way: about the Kilo runs in N.C. last year. Why did OL go home so quietly not even mentioning they had problems. Probably because they are a bunch of Pusseys! And if you want to talk about money then I guess you can put a price tag on fit and finish which Fountains are still damn good quality and they dont cost nearly as much as OLs, but thats fine spend the money and yes Outerlimits will still get its ass kicked on race day. Just ask Media Master when it when up against Nick Carter Racing all year. Hey I know my **** pretty well, but Im always wanting to learn more. And watch the Vettes race in GT1 class its not a race or competioin its a flat out joke its actually comedy if you ask me, If you race 10 times in a year you arent suppose to win every race, but somehow they do. So some of you people could learn some **** from me stop and think about that.

To answer the step bottom question, it wasn't fountian or Fiore, I beleive it was some crazy british guy back in like 1890 or something. It was a sailboat and had like 7 steps.

TNOTHIN, it's not that anyone doesn't want to give you credit for what you are saying, it is how you are conveying the message, and then looking for an argument. I don't know who you are, alias, or for what ever reason, but personally I dont really care. I think you are young, arrogant, immature, and have alot to learn, but that will come in time. Calling Mike Fiore and the OL guys a bunch of PUSEYS, proves my point. You weren't there, and do not know all the facts. If you want respect, you must earn it. Both Reggy, and Mike/Paul have respect, in different ways. Opinions are like *******s, we all have one. I have read all of your 40 posts, do us all a favor, think before you speak. Jeff

Do you need to be taught how to read and what a web link looks like?

Here is a quote from the site:

"Stepped Hulls

The concept was originally proposed by Rev. Ramus of Sussex England in 1872. He proposed both a single stop with tandem planing surfaces, and a combination of three pontoons with one forward and two aft. Indications are that these shapes were derived from model tests. Unfortunately, the heavy steam power plants of that day could not push a hull fast enough to plane, and take advantage of the new concept.

As early as 1906 there were published drawings for small stepped hulls with hard chines. William Henry Fauber [8] obtained a U.S. patent for hulls with multiple steps in 1908, but could find few people in the U.S.A. interested, so he moved to Europe.

Two small boats Solair (12') and Flapper (15') demonstrated the potential of stepped hulls as did the Harmsworth challenger Pioneer (5 steps) in 1910. (See Data Chart, Figure 12.)

The stepped hull began practical development about at the same time as the hard chined planing hull. A step in the bottom of a hull, raises part of the bottom surface so that it is no longer touching the water. Less wetted area. At the same time, the planing surfaces meet the water at a near optimum angle of attack over a wide range of speeds. The stepped hull is very efficient hydrodynamically."

Hey nonothin - aren't you the same little boy teenager who's daddy supposedly bought him a condo and also claims to own an 05 Fountain? You slipped up on a different thread, you referred to boat as "ours" - In boating lingo it translates to "daddy's" .

Grow up you wanna-be.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen Also Tnothin Vettes Are Very Sucessful In American Lemans & Once Again They Are Cool Everyday Sportscars But They Are In Fact A Big Fish In Alittle Pond & If You Would Like To Compare Them To Ferrari Then They Will Need To Step Up To F-1 As For The Stepped Bottom Hillbilly24 Might Very Well Be Correct One Thing Is For Sure It Was Not Reggie Or The Fiores If You Care To Talk To A Legend Such As Larry Smith He'll Tell You About Biulding Race Boats In The 70's With Stepped Bottoms & Also Think About A Scarab Called The 5 Boat That Had Everything Reggies 76 Boat Wanted Also Remeber That Don Johnson & Chuck Norris Raced Boats For The Fun Of It & Still Won There Share Of Races With Reggie Also Competing. Fountian Or Corvette Didn't Invent Racing They Are Just Competetors That Has There Success Noted In The History Books & Thats The Bottom Line!

tnothin 06-05-2005 03:31 PM

Re: Outerlimit guys

Well said I agree. But Corvettes do race Ferris in Le Mans they are more factory cars that people can buy. But yes Corvettes are not in the F1 class. In fact I dont even think any American cars race in F1. And yes the bottom line is having fun and competing that is what is all about. Heck I enjoyeed just goin out on my Buddys Ski Centurion the other day. I believe the sayin goes: anyday on the water is better than anyday at work, no matter what boat your on.

Re: Outerlimit guys

didn't a DB9 lap Fellows and his dominant C6-R at sebring and win the GT1 class? and who are they competing against? Nobody else is pouring money into GT1 like Chevy is.... GT2 has more factory support than GT1 does... i could care less either way, i watch F-1....

tnothin 06-05-2005 06:53 PM

Re: Outerlimit guys

Yeah that was the C6-Rs first race ever and they have won the last two. And they lap everyone in GT 2 class. But thats cool F 1 does have the best drivers in the world and is more fun to watch I can say that.

Sean H 06-05-2005 07:28 PM

Re: Outerlimit guys

i would hope they lap GT2 class, i just think that is a more competive class with most of the factories supporting teams in that class... GT1 has turned into some one off teams running around (vipers, saleen, db9) running against a couple of factory teams and last years factory cars....

Chad,
I used to build boats.
I raced OPC as well as Offshore.
I had my hands in everything from 13 foot Vee Bottoms to 36 foot catamarans.

Sometimes I wish I stayed with it due to how the technology has changed over the years.

Occasionally I get offers to come back to jump in on laying up a hull that is being vacuum bagged at a custom boat builder's shop that I used to sub contract for. If I ever get some free time, I just may do it.

Here was a few boats that I raced:

The Mirage was a great boat to race in. It took some serious hits out there in the offshore waters...
