Sterling and No 6 Drives
What is the general feeling about Sterling 825-875hp with No. 6 drives on a 42 epoxy? What would be the expected engine life span with regular driving? drives? I believe Sterling has a great reputation but would like some input from some owners please.

I just bought a 2003 37 Outerlimits with 875 sterlings (dyno @905) and number 6 drives. The boat had 130 hrs on it when I bought it. At about 95 hours the motors were gone though (by Sterling) because of an oil pump issue. I was told that everything was fine that they checked. I was told that with normal driving I shouild get another 100 hrs before they need refreshed. So far I have put about 5 hours on them and have no complaints. They run great, idle great and I have no problems docking nor do they cut out when I put them in gear. The number sixes are bullet proof. I am finally getting use to gettting it up on plane without too much trouble. It's a little different than the Bravos I was use to. I would recommend the Sterlings to anyone.
