New 44 SL

Got a buddy that ordered a new 44SL. Been waiting on it for a few months now. Even took a trip to RI to pick it up and it wasn't done. Today he's at Lake of the Ozarks waiting because they said it would be delivered today, now they said Sunday?!

Anyone else having problems getting boats delivered?

2 or 3?? I saw the pik of the gps from the 52sl they are finishing up... rather impressive for a condo, 134 and ran out of prop.

Shallow Minded 08-13-2010 10:21 AM

Sounds like it has kind of been one thing after another to get this boat done. I just hope they're taking good care of him...

It's a twin engine boat.

SLOWRIDE-388 08-15-2010 08:14 PM

Hopefully everything works out for him. Sounds like a sweet boat.

I'm sure it will in the long run. They are waiting for parts, boat didn't make it down this weekend.

SLOWRIDE-388 08-16-2010 08:47 PM

Did you sell the 42 eddie, talked to sparky over the weekend at our wedding reception. Said the boat and trailer are gone. That didn't take long. The new 44 OL is one bad boat, should be great for LOTO. See you next weekend at the shootout.

You better wait another weekend for the shoot out Ben! I have a deposit on the 42. Should be a done deal this Saturday.

Congrats on the wedding!

SLOWRIDE-388 08-19-2010 09:06 PM

That's why I said NEXT weekend:lolhit:, not this weekend. Thanks on the wedding, everything went great. Good luck on Sat.

The boat is beautiful, and it is extremely fast for the power.

Thanks, but it's not mine! :coolcowboy: I was told it ran 114 on Saturday. We will see what it does this weekend.

I can confirm 114. Impressive to say the least.

SLOWRIDE-388 08-23-2010 09:03 PM

Turned out great, looks like it was worth the wait

I think Jeff is pretty happy with the boat. I tried to go for a ride Sunday morning and a shift cable came off the shifters. Should be fixed now and I hope to get a ride this weekend. I'll take some pics.

Right now I just got one pic of Jeff cleaning our way back into the boat before we left the dock.:lolhit:

Reggie Fountain 09-03-2010 10:35 PM

Beautiful Boat! Mikes work is very impressive!

Enough 4 Play 09-04-2010 07:13 AM

Really sharp looking boat. Who did the paint job.

animalhouse 09-07-2010 10:09 AM

The paint was done in house. Chriss from Fraphic Effex designed it, and it was painted in house by OL

eddie 09-07-2010 10:57 AM

the boat rocks!

We ran the boat Sunday to 110. Runs and handles very well. We did 80 miles of lake in a very short period of time. I'm use to a flat bottom 42 Fountain on LOTO and I was very impressed with the ride of the 44 SL. You guys do great work! No doubt with the right set up, or just maybe some more seat time, the boat will run 114 no problem. I drove the boat and it's very responsive and predictable.

Jeff did receive a noise warning for 102 db, need to get down to 90 db. :drink:

lavey jr 09-07-2010 03:12 PM

The boat looks great!! Congrats to whoever the owner is!

One question, are these STOCK merc 700's....? Or are the rev limmiters bumped up....?

animalhouse 09-07-2010 03:56 PM

TAOD is still doing paint work based on customer request.

Who doesn't bump them up?

I'm sure he's trying to see actual top speed compared to other boats, not with extra HP.

SLOWRIDE-388 09-07-2010 09:12 PM

eddie, have him try some HPI muffs on it, thats what we are running with no issues to date. may have to get a used set, not for sure if they are still in business.

Laveycraft.

So by your comment I am going to assume these engines are bumped up... Which to me would make a lot more sense with that top seed number.
Very impressive none the less.

animalhouse 09-08-2010 03:51 PM

These motors are running stock pulley set up, no mod's except for some bling bling air cleaners.

customryder 09-08-2010 11:07 PM

I even got to drive! Look at that smile on my face.

Here is the 47 Fountain we played with - triple 700 boat.

animalhouse 09-12-2010 10:44 PM

Great shots. You look good behind the wheel. We may have to do something about that.

We ran about 40 miles with him Sunday Labor Day weekend from the 20mm to the 1mm and back. Boat ran great.

Told my wife I was going for a quick boat ride and was gone three hours and forgot my phone! I ran out the door I was so excited. That went over like a fart in church. :argue:

It was worth it :drink:
