What are the cabin doors made of on the new boats? Are they painted aluminum? Mine is made of some type of plastic (maybe an aftermarket fix?) , so I covered it in vinyl to make it look pretty. Looks good but can be hard to open and close sometimes. I want to get a new door.

Rich,
Did you ever replace your door?
Has anyone had any luck replacing the door in a 37? If so, can you please tell me where you got it? I took my door out yesterday, and it appears to be just some kind of plastic. I would think there is a good alternative available these days. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Thomas,
Never replaced the door, the door itself was actually fine, made out of some type of composite/plastic. I did recover the door in white vinyl, looks great. Sometimes the door can rub on the underside of the deck, I used a thin insulation on the underside of the deck to avoid that problem.
Why did you take the door out? Are you having a problem with it?
