Spoke to Merc Racing here in WI this AM (920.921.5330). If the 600's are serviced per the manaul and not abused Merc Racing informed me of the following:
1. Top Ends - @ 300 hours do a leak down and spring inspection
2. Top Ends - @ 400 hours replace the valve springs/misc components
3. Full Rebuild - seen these motors go over 500 hours.
4. Routine Maintenance - follow the manual.

My Quattro listed above has 192 hours, every major component either replaced new/rebuilt, and is turn key. Inland WI water boat, no poker runs, weekend runs only. Engine/Drive/Blower Oil done every 10 hours, for me that is twice per season.

Good luck with your search, if you find a 05' or newer Legacy w/ 700's & NXT's for $175K call me I will take two
