Elite Marine 03-16-2007 07:52 AM

You beat me!!!

I have steering lines to hook up, new gauges and related plumbing, 120 MPH GPS Speedo and to finish the drive install!!

Hope to get most knocked out this weekend.

When are you splashing it? Should be a very noticable difference!! You do nice work.

IRONMAN 03-16-2007 09:40 AM

Between the notch and the box you should be able to really load that 6blade for some good slippage numbers.
That pic 3 is awesome Try to get one with the trailer reflectors covered then the prop will shine more in the photo
good luck with the test run.

Hey Full Throttle , get some pictures or vid's of that crazy ride with Brian . Good luck !!! Have Fun !!!

JROMY 03-24-2007 06:48 PM

Ron, after you tortured me with the sounds of boating and warm weather over the phone.....is there an update on how Brian's boat ran? I am pretty psyched however - it is 53 degrees here in Connecticut!! Summer is near!!:drink:

B-Stubb 03-25-2007 08:54 AM

Ok lot of info here with little pictures but . The box is a good deal and if you are going to run over 85 should be std equipment . With motor improvements and box and prop im seeing 8 mph across the board . the box made the boat track very straight . The benifit starts to be seen above 70 mph . The box made it jump on plane the best its ever done and . The stainless marine exhaust is soo sweet it finaly sounds like it should . Deep throaty and probaly less iratateing cause you like the sound .4000 rpm 61 mph 4500 71 mph nice cruise. No wot numbers yet I need to adress some little isues first. Water presure jumped so that must be adressed . Have a couple of drive issues to look at .

Elite Marine 03-25-2007 07:47 PM

I installed a water pressure relief on mine. I understand that over 80 guys have been pegging water pressure gauges and blowing hoses.

What prop are you running?

Congrats on getting in the water. My headers should be here this week and I hope to start testing soon!

Glad to hear about the box!!!! What's the prop shaft below the boat??

Full Throttle 525 03-25-2007 09:38 PM

Okay, I need some help. We took some stills which I just need to resize and I have some short videos. Can anyone tell me how I can post the videos?

B-Stubb 03-26-2007 05:05 PM

Wow Ron nice thank you Ron is a real stand up dude . The prop is a 31 6 blade th answer 650 hp

littledcsrodshop 03-26-2007 07:21 PM

Hey B-stubb , Not trying to jack your thread or anything & forgive any oversight but what kind of power where you making before your update ? I am looking for performace #'s & prop slip #'s at aorund 750 - 800 hp Thanks , Scott

talon25 03-27-2007 10:54 AM

Great Pic's and Vid's Full Throttle , looks like you guys were haveng some fun . Brian's 6 Blade throws some serious tail !!!

B-Stubb 03-27-2007 05:13 PM

Its around 20 % its high for our weight being only a single . 750 hp will take you 83-84 mph at 5900 witha true blade of 26 pitch hope this helps.

Brian , you are on the money with those numbers , it takes 5800 and a 26 pitch for me to see 80 mph with my 28 pantera .

littledcsrodshop 03-27-2007 07:41 PM

Thanks guys & yes that does help. I had a good idea that it would take 750 hp to see a real low 80's. These heavy conventional deep V's take big power to go but when they do go they are hard to stop ! I no longer have a 28 Pantera & now have a 28 Saber & that is what I am asking for. There are no big power single's out there for me to compare to & I knew that a 28 Pantera would probably be my best comparision & I knew my pantera brothers would be glad to help out. My boat should come in right around 4900-5000#. Thanks again for the info & I will give you your thread back now. By the way Congrats on the sucssesfull upgrade. The boat seems to be running very strong. Scott

B-Stubb 03-31-2007 12:09 PM

hope to have ready for the water again by sunday buy dont know it I can make it to the water or not . Got my Pantera decals done in yellow wife dont like them not sure what to do

Elite Marine 04-01-2007 07:38 PM

What is the prop shaft below the bottom of the boat? I think I may need a shortie.

B-Stubb 04-03-2007 09:22 PM

Put the decal on looks good ran the boat still working bugs out got water presure about right . Ran right at 90 like it was on rails . Got a few issues before we realy lean on it.

Do you have a notch transom? if you do, then you won`t need a shortie. The higher the drive the less stable the boat at high speeds.

Elite Marine 04-04-2007 07:34 PM

No notch. I'm at 4-1/2" below bottom of boat.

B-Stubb 04-04-2007 09:07 PM

with box?

Elite Marine 04-04-2007 09:54 PM

Yes

talon25 04-05-2007 12:09 PM

Just for a baseline for you guy's , my 2007 stock xr with to transome notch is set at 5 " . Kirk , I think you will be close at 4 1/2 " might need a shorty if you run a 6 blade . Get her in the water and try it out . I ran 81 in the river last Saturday with a full tank and two guy's .

Elite Marine 04-05-2007 12:38 PM

Hope I get 81

Hope all is well Morgan. Glad to see you enjoying the boat.
