Exactly the same - the pressure drops as usual... Will go get a electric fuel pump instead, but will do a test when we will put the suction fuel hose in a fuel canister to see if that works. Right now it should be the fuel pickup that's f'd up. Probably a bad weld or a crack somewhere.

Got your prop already...there´s a 28" 4-blade cleaver here thats labbed to 29" by Luukila, Might be a little fragile for you as it´s done for a XR2 in a 24 Twister.

About "Kimis" Fountain...it was a 38 with 600´s and was lent out to him the owner has another one with 700´s and loads of (inherited) money than Kimi will ever have.
Kimi personally has a 70ft Princess and is ordering something over 100ft last I´ve heard.
I´ve spotted him a few times at the docks in Helsinki where there´s a lot of Fountains...and his own boat.
The regular 35´07 in Hanko was a local guy from my town.

*And yes I would love to wipe those Fountain guys with something oldschool.... like an Apache 41.
I´m my self no fan of Fountains as I´ve had to check on a saturday evening a 2week old Fountain that runs only on one engine.
The Bilges are full of installation leftovers and the engines well... they are like russians had installed them.
In the Baltic seas the screws in the interior got loose and dropped off etc etc...
No quality rigging in my eyes or then our sharp chop is a killer for massproduced powerboats in general as they always break here when the wind picks up.

Dude! Sweet! 08-22-2007 01:14 PM

Have any of you guys ever run or seen one of those race pumps run? Looks trick and Hot Rod Magazine has been talking them up...

Interesting story on Kimi. I saw the name on the back and understood it to be his boat.

Fountains are funny... I've seen some that look like they were rigged as nice as any Cig and I've seen others that as you (hilariously) stated look like they were assembled behind the iron curtain.

MikeyFIN 08-24-2007 05:51 AM

Dude not yet but I´m going to try at least one soon or fabricate a similar one ,it´s actually a variation of a brake master cylinder..

Maybe this one was rigged like this as it was sent close to the Iron Curtain ! Infact ours is the Flying iron wall...

But they forgot at Fountain that the western side of the flying iron wall is one of the no1 highTech countries in the world...
Actually the rigging wasn´t that bad... but the leftovers was like you´d jump in a wastedump.

I´m used to Mercruiser being finished crudely and their casting being like from russia but what do you expect when the basis for the engines are from Grusian Motors or was it general..oh well the tolerances are equal so who cares...:angry-smiley-044:

Did you manage to solve the fuel problems?

I'am pretty sure they will go with a electric fuel pump. But yesterday the P4-4 sounded awesome!! And I cant wait to see Dr Phil and Tomas drive the boat offshore at Sandhamn september 8. Pictures from yesterday

Yep, we have now replaced the complete fuel system besides the fuel pickup and the fuel block and carbs. NO difference, fuel pressure still drops just like before.

We have tested three different mech fuel pumps, two filter brackets and three different filters. All hoses are AN-10 to the filter and AN-8 to the carbs, fittings are all straight besides two sweeped 45deg's.

We will by 95% go with an electric SX fuel pump.

The weekend was so awesome, to bad we never went offshore, but you can't have it all at once... So great with great company and a great time!

I'm really looking forward to Sept 8th, but hopefully the weather still stands for next weekend as well.
