I'm still looking myself. The search is pretty much becoming a deisiavue type of thing. Alot of the boats in the OSO classifieds are also in the other websites. Found a handfull of panteras that arent.
Pretty much set on a mid to upper 90's 28 with twins. Ive done checked, backchecked, rechecked and double checked so much, I need a break and a drink so I can go over all this stuff to make a desicion before the season ends. |

Does anybody have any thoughts as to where this boat came from. Does it look familiar to anyobody.

I would consider swaping a good set of fresh ( Work done by Mel Riggs ) Mild small blocks for those tired 500's. They are sweet & completly ready to drop in.

You would think that with as many people looking for 28s that one in RI (http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/0/9/89638909.htm) and the one in MD (http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/7/5/87507875.htm) would alredy be gone. The prices don't seem way too high. I know they don't have typical pleasure setups, but really how much time do people spend below decks? Both of them have a cabin of some sort and seats can be modified for a few thousand dollars. Well now that I look at that one in RI, it's a little more than I remembered...
What's keeping people from buying them? What is it, the blower motors? And that one in IL (http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/6/3/88945463.htm). I wonder if they would sell it without the motor? That boat is less than 1/2 what a new one is... |
Funny, i thought sonic boom was asking around 35 too.
These non pleasure 28s are a tough sell. I think its the no cabin, rear bench that kills it. Blower motors? if well taken care of would be a better buy than a shot rusty pair of 502s imo. |

Anyone see the one in MD/PA? Looks like a candidate to go back to the plant for a dash/cockpit interior and paint removal.
That would be about $10k. Not bad if bought for under 27k. Nice set of sparcos. |
