Change prop to 31' and turn RPM up to 5700-5800 and it will be faster than you want to drive it. The way it's set up now it accelerates like a rocket to 82mph/5000rpm. The bottom line is it's 49k which is a STEAL and has been sold about 10 times and fallen apart about 8 times because people have been unable to get financed. We are currently considering tearing boat down and selling parts which would sell for more than 49K. Thanks for those of you supporting us on this thread.
Regards, TEAM Shogren 847-336-9037 Definitely a bad-azz boat. It would be a sweet as a 5 man bolster set-up and probably an easy change. |

I'll cut you some slack because you're in Germany but there's a Malibu up there to! :D Well there you have it, Pantera with an identity crisis...........its a bit like that Malibu, but the other way round, really. Hard knukkle boat with hard knukkle cockpit....and soft porn motor. Rigging looks clean, too. |
Funny! (Yup, bored and too quiet around here today :D )
|
Yup, could be a nice pantera for the right person. I was talking with Scott and Greg about this boat, I told Scott that I would be interested in putting together a deal on it going on his reputation as to the condition of the boat. But I did need to trade my boat , only problem was that this was when they had a lot of people interested in it so Scott low balled the trade probably thinking if I went for it he could't lose and if not there were a couple of other cards on the table. Oh well sometimes when you gamble like that you lose. Good thing he has deep pockets and can afford to take those gambles. Sales 101 never blow off a perspective sale completely because that offer you didn't want to waste time on just might be the one that actually goes through. I know I know I 'm wasteing way to much time on this. Way too much caffine!

Well IŽd guessed that that hood scoop wasnŽt put there to keep chickens in:D :angry-smiley-044: :D :angry-smiley-044:
Thats how the Pantera should be! I reckon it must be one of the smallest (and cheapest) boats on ShogrenŽs lot. What woud they do with a trade in? |

Griswald, Nitrous big block or huffed small block (twin turbo or centrifugal supercharger I'd guess)? I'd heard that the little tires don't like big torque so I'm guessing small block. Post some video! What ETs? I'll guess 8.70's.

2 kit Nitrous small block 434". Below is a link to an 1/8th mile pass. Best ET I ran it to was 8.37 @ 164.9 in the 1/4. We don't do much 1/4mi stuff down here......all 1/8th. It was a fun car and I enjoyed running it. Not sure what Scott is doing with it. He told me he took it to the track once, but ended up not running it. It's listed for sale on his website. Motor is 100% fresh. It will make someone a nice toy. 1/8th mile pass |
Very nice! Man that's a narrow track! Thanks for the link!

1/8th mile pass Sorry for adding to the thread jack but hey we all love horsepower around here !! |
And they say that Apaches jump in and kill all threads, cool car Sean....
|
Oh NO !!! Albert just said the "A" word again:argue:
:D :D :D Cool car & cool boat If I was looking again ( which believe it or not I am not ) & it was in my $$ range I would scoop it up without much thought. Do a bit of reconfiguring in the interior & if the motor needed attention I would give it some, but if it indeed does have a large pully on it causing it to only make 3lbs. Just my .02 cents Either way it is alot of boat & Well worth the $$$ |
Awesome! If it only had Big Chief heads on it... :D
So is the Saber running yet?! |

NOT RYING TO BUST ANYONES BUBBLE , but Iown the black 28, and it has a 540 tunnel ram with 710 hp, that run mid 80s with a 27 pitch prop at 5700 rpm, I had a 860hp blower motor in it and then spun 32p prop at 6300rpm and the best I saw out of it in salt water was 97mph, , 570hp is low hp even at 3lbs of boost, for a 540 with an 871 blower ,it should put up that much with out a blower, Pier57 used to have that boat, dont know anything about it , looks great, when Peir 57 had it they wanted 90,000 for it, if it is the same boat.

I'm pretty sure that it is the same boat. Heck, I even think Lake Cumberland had it for sale for a while. |
Yup this boat has definitly made the rounds. that kind of says something right there.I'm sure Scotts a nice guy but I believe its priced accordingly. I don't remember seeing him in a red suit. We'll have to see on who's lot this boat shows up in next. If team shogren thought they could piece it out for more they would have done it already. But that was a good reply for a boat with some questionable issues. 8 deals fell through due to financing? I though I remember seeing a ad saying no credit no problem? Seems like somebody's failing to mention some details.

There's a big difference between "no credit no problem" and "your credit sucks azz no problem"! :cool-smiley-011: |
Most everytime I talk to a salesman about a boat its "yep, had a deal or two fall thru due to financing problems" or "I've got some offers on the table, you'd better hurry up and make one" or "there's nothing wrong as far as I know"

Makes 'em jump on the stock. But in all honesty, can't tell you how many times i quote and they call back a week later to place the order for the goods, and they've been sold. Snooze, ya lose. |
Shogren Pantera
This boat has been sold more times than any other boat we have had for sale. Sorry, we can't get the buyers bought with scores in the 400's and low 500's but damm we tried our best. We supposedly have two more people that want the boat and are "sending the deposit". Maybe one of these will result in someone getting good deal. If not, look for it on Ebay with everything but the motor and drive which we plan to pull out by next Friday if we don't have a deposit on boat. Sure tough to swallow the cost of these boats when you can't get 49K for it and it's like new!! We appreciate the support of the boat, hell it has more attention than the big expensive ones.

Scott doesn't play that game. Doesn't need to.
Someone should buy the boat, throw in their quad rotor whipple and install their Konrad Drive and call it a day! :drink: |

Damn straight Kirk! I agree 100% with 50% of that! :D (cough try the bravo first cough cough! :D )
Ditto 50% if that... why would anyone seal a perfect Bravo set up done by the factory to install anything else. Shogren has noting to prove here for this boat, the problem is that this poor boat has`nt been seen by the right buyer yet. |
I think w/o power and drive it should go pretty quick.
Anyone have a nice NA BBC w/ about 650-700 so an imco can be tagged on? hmmmmm. I've been eyeing, watching this boat for years, and it seems killer. This whole worrying about the motor thing is silly. You get what you buy, just like any other boat. Buying w/o drivetrain is a great option. Now you'll know what's in there. But what do you discount w/o engine/drive? Drive is worth 10-15, and engine same. And that ain't gonna happen. Seems worth it to buy as is, and rebuild in the offseason. Those looking for a pleasure setup... keep looking. |
Always cheaper to buy than to build! Refer back to my photos of the worlds most expensive '67 Camaro! :D

just curious, why did my reply get bumped from the thread

See I told you! We can have all sorts of fun with that topic!
By the way, the 525 is for sale in the swap shop. It's still in the boat and running good (for a couple more weeks anyhow). If you guys know anyone looking to repower give me a shout and I'll make them a really sweet deal on the motor! |
Closure
It's sold with a nice deposit. The motor and drive are coming out and the new csutomer is picking up September 15th.
Thanks for the positive comments on the thread. Team Shogren www.chicagofountain.com |
I wonder if it's an oso member
