Just saw it in the classifieds... 36 in the future? I guess when you live down there next to JO, you don't need your own Pantera :D

Dude! Sweet! 09-16-2007 12:29 AM

Such an awesome boat. I wish I had the capacity to own two 28 Panteras!

Stormrider 09-16-2007 07:55 AM

Wow albert!!!
Thats a great boat and a great deal w/ or w/o engine.
How hard would it be to detune the power?

Elite Marine 09-16-2007 09:24 PM

Should I come down a week early for KW and bring my engine??

Just for testing sake . . .:D

The motor detuned will make around 850 at 4/5 lbs. boost.
Will still run 95 though, this boat needs nothing, just another
motor. A nice motor would be Seans 525 for 5K, puts the boat
at 30k running mid 70`s.

Kirk if you put your motor in my boat you may end up taking her to Illinois.

Smart azz!! you are good Bernie:violent-smiley-045:

p729lws 09-18-2007 10:00 AM

Thanks for the welcome guys! My Donzi has a 500 EFI style motor that dyno'd at 500 HP and 525 Ft Lbs when Precision Marine in New Orleans rebuilt it last winter. I hate to neuter the Mig28 w/ this motor but I think I'm going to drop it in to get on the water quick and run it until I decide what to have Precision Marine build next. I'm in Gulf Breeze just east of Pensacola and the Pantera will be in a lift at the house so there is a standing offer for a ride if anyone is in the area. :ernaehrung004: Albert's been great to deal with and I can tell that letting his baby go has not been an easy decision.

Dan

Stormrider 09-18-2007 10:30 AM

Very cool Dan. It should be fun to see how it performs w/ that power compared to other 28s out there.
Now we can see what the weight advantage is!

I'm also interested to see how the speed compares to the Donzi 22 Classic. The 22 would run 75 any time and 78 if conditions and load were ideal.

Stormrider 09-18-2007 03:34 PM

a new pleasure 28 w/ a 525efi will run 69.

Dude! Sweet! 09-18-2007 04:20 PM

Huh huh huh you said "sixty-nine"!

JO - PANTERABOATS 09-18-2007 07:00 PM

A new "full pleasure" 28' with a 525 EFI does not run 69 MPH. I have seen consistent 72 - 74 MPH on GPS depending on fuel and passenger loads. Depends on who is driving the boat I guess:cool-smiley-011:

The Pantera 28' model will soon be running much more speed !!!:cool-smiley-011:

Dan, Congratulations on your Pantera 28' purchase. If I can help you with anything for it just let me know.

rchevelle71 09-18-2007 07:05 PM

Congrats on the sale Albert, and Dan, you got a great boat at a great deal, I'll have to get up that way for a ride, i was scared to get in it with Alberts power, and throttle hand:D

Uh oh! I hear (foot) steps!

Stormrider 09-18-2007 09:12 PM

Well, could be the driver. but he's seeing 69. :(

JO - PANTERABOATS 09-19-2007 09:24 AM

Who is seeing 69 MPH ?

Stormrider 09-19-2007 09:49 AM

FT525. is he seeing better speeds now?

Elite Marine 09-19-2007 09:51 AM

You guys and your speeds!!

Can't you just be happy enjoying the boat and the scenery?

MIAMIBOYZ 09-19-2007 10:01 AM

Look at me, I got speed, got bored and sold the boat.... it is not all about speed on a Pantera it is about handling anything at any given time. I`m moving on to a sailboat, dont have to worry about speed. Sean got a taste of speed, it is all fun untill it bights you in the azz.

Thanks Jo, I'm sure I'll be asking for your input at some point. I'll probably drive down to pick her up so I'll try to come by the factory to pick up some goodies.

Rick atleast you were honest.. not like a buddy of mine took him out jumped a few in mid 80`s had to bring him back to the docks for his wife to pick him up crying..true story still laughing today about it

Dude! Sweet! 09-19-2007 10:21 AM

A snail boat! Albert you are one seriously funny MF!

High Speed is the most dangerous drug of all. Once you get a taste... When its in your blood, its the most compelling thing I've ever experienced. The most expensive, deadliest drug around. Just ask all the guys who've eaten sh1t trying to get more of it (Campbell, Muncie, Senna, Vukovich, Peroni and on and on and on).

I actually found myself a little jealous and angry at the space shuttle crew the last time the flew into CA. They said the approach speed on reentry was 15,000 mph! Oh mama! Come on... Just give me one more taste!!

:D :D :D
