Right on Tim! Go get 'er!

And by the way, I only take responsability for the marine silicone on the outside of the boat! :D

Gee, thanks... You *****!...
just kidding bud, I've done it before myself for a quick fix.
You'll be glad to know I've spent hours crawling around under that hull, scraping every last bit of it out, grinding it with a sander, and rubbing enough acetone onto it that I was inebriated on the fumes ( of course I was drinking beer the whole time, so my arguement for that may be futile). I'm working small areas at a time, and I'm not an expert in working with this stuff - but it's fun to learn on the fly. I learned pretty quick that too much hardener means the mix hardens before you can get it off the pallete and onto the boat.:D
It's coming along well, and if my plans and budget align, you'll be amazed at what I have in mind for the old girl.
I'll try to start that thread on Sunday - I've got a project at work that is gonna require me to work the next few Sat.'s so I may be done until spring.
But, I have a few plans...:D

Tom, I'll try to start a thread this weekend, and yes, I do have pics:D
For the past few weeks, I've been at the stage of every weekend I've been working on it, but the pics would look the same, the detail things that when you see it in person vs a pic, you'd notice. You know, when you fill something with duraglass, sand it out and feather it in, and there is a small void or "pock mark", the pic never shows it, but the eye will.
This means you need to go back and fill it again. And sand, and feather... Maybe I'm just being too anal about it.
I'm finally getting into the "re-construction" and have something that shows progress instead of tear-down.
My motor guy called me today, and my block is almost ready, heads are done, and cam is on order. It was a standard 330hp 454, and I'm gonna bump it just a little with the cam/carb setup. I don't want to go crazy with this one - just reliable. In a year or two I'll build a monster for her.

Sounds like you are really starting to make progress. One question, was that year 454 the 4 bolt block? I know the more recent ones were not.

I think I missed a post along the way. Sean, are you buying Mike's race hatch? Mike, did you find a used hatch or is Pantera making a new one for you?

Dan

Check! and copy that .... it's unbeleiveable that the hatch on ths 2003 looks brand new, seems perfect wherever I look at it and it's a work of art the way the factory molds the scoop and the NACA ducts into it along with the spring actuated relief doors in the back. Plus it's super light .... like Dude said Jo is going to make me a new rec hatch with the Pantera Racing embroidery on the sun pad. I'm going to put an aluminum swim platform on it as well to finish out the back end. Dude is gonna love this hatch .....

Mike I get jealous every time I look at your avitar photo! I love that interior!

Tim, I figured the silcone (only total of maybe a foot cumulatively) would be better in the bottom than sea-water! :D

And Chris, didn't you put that motor in the boat?! :D :D :D

Where's your boat in the LG poker run photos?!

My engine guy had a chart for this, and that was the year it could be either a 2 or a 4 bolt.
So, we didn't know what we were going to find until we tore it down.
This one happens to be a 4 bolt.

Jo's making him a new one. So now I'll have parts from TWO of the most well talked about Pantera's bolted to my boat! :D

How's the Ol' Mig doing?!

Sounds cool! The Mig is at the shop. We're looking into adding drop down seats to the race bolster. My motor guy is working on some options incase my Donzi sells w/ the motor. Is Casper the motor that just came out of the Mig minus the blower or is it a motor that Albert used earlier? That's a nice hatch on the Shogren boat.

Dan

Dude! Sweet! 10-12-2007 02:58 PM

Casper is the motor that was in the Mig before the big monster (not sure what it's name is, I'd just call it "Sir"...).

I thought about the blower motor, but decided that I didn't want to get murdered by my wife... :D

Maybe next year!

You got a a nice boat for sure. I like the combo of race bolsters up front and pleasure seating in back. I got close to working out a deal w/ Scott but not close enough soon enough. :ernaehrung004:

Tell me about it, lol. The Mig purchase was followed quickly by a jewelry purchase. :D
