Ok, let's start the debate. Sit-down, or drop-out?

I would sit down in the 24. I've done both and prefer the sit down. Talk to Jo he's done it all. When I did my 24' bolters 6-7 years ago, I bought them direct from Pantera. When I picked them up I saw the sit-down seat he was starting to build. Killer piece. Very similar to Jokers. THought I do agree, for pleasure use I would cut the head rest down to shulder height.

I modified my bolsters so they were more comfortable sitting down. I lowered the seat bottoms 4". Now when I sit in the seat the bolster comes up to the armpits and I can still use my legs to absorb some shock. Very secure feeling. NO WAY would I want to stand up running in the rough!

Ok, I think I'm taking everyones advice on this, and start shopping for sit downs.
I never really paid much attention to sit-downs, and don't really know what's out there, or the mounting options.
The seaspension idea looks like a good idea, but I don't like the "look" of the single post. Currently the boat has the single post, with swivel, and front/back motion locks. But, the single post look is what I don't like. I'm thinking of something more like a four point, U- shaped frame. I might have to custom make something up. I know how to sweat copper pipe, so this shouldn't be that hard
As far as the seats themselves, many of them suggested in the pics have the arm rest that are rounded out over your legs, I imagine this would lock you in pretty good, But I'm not sure I like the look.
Let's keep in mind, the boat is NOT going to be a race boat. I'm looking at a max 65-70 mph with the way I want it set up. I want it safe for rough water. I'm planning on trips to Erie, and you can easily go out to the Islands in glass water, and a few hours later you're dealing with 3-5's in a random set.
The boat is not being built to be "original", but I want to keep some of the classic look to it - at least from the outside, and I want to modernize the inside without going crazy, just subtle.
For the exterior, here is what I have in mind.
Hull - painted white.
Deck - original gel white (and the LifeLine STAYS!!).
Hullsides - Solid Gunmetal gray. No stripes, swirls, checkers, splashes, fades, 64 crayola box melted on the stove, or any other colors aside from the gray family black to white.
The only graphics I'm thinking of on the boat is to "ghost-in" the Pantera name in black, and Eye's in green of course. When I say "ghost-in", kinda like the name on this Apache.
So now that we have sit down covered, help me with a cool style for what I have in mind for the rest of the boat.
And also - Thank you all very much for the replies and guidance!!

Wow you really do have mightaswellanoma. I think if your going to paint it all white they you should leave it all white and slap on some green eyes for a little while. Then go gray with the green eyes on down the road.

Keep the dash classic w/ just stainless rims, no bezels.
I like the footrest mods on this boat.
