One more pic, sorry they are not at the right angle but they are all I have of the old motor.

It will also depend on if you have a notched transom. The engine sits about 3" in a notched hull boat.

You should just be able to measure from the top of the valvecovers to the top of the hat and compare that to your current set up. My buddy MM1 would know, but he's not back in town until monday.

well, If I hadn't a been in such a hurry to pull the mtr, I would have placed the blower set up on my engine and measured before I pulled it.
I have a scoop, But I just wondered how much if any I can cut it down. I guess I'll have to wait and do the mod later, no major deal thanks for the pics Mike. |

Based on the 525sc fit in a notched boat, I'd say your looking at about 8-9" above the hatch. It will also stick up farther above the hatch toward the back. My hatch had a recess glassed in about 1.5" for the arrestor to fit. I'm guessing the 871 is about 4" taller plus 3-4" for the chiller.

No dimensions but a few pics. 8-71, superchiller and 3" flame arrestors at about 19-1/2" x-dim. The standard scoop is about an inch to low to fit the back flame arrestor...
