Norm, What kind of mufflers did you go with? Vid and pic's are great. Where on LG is that? Doug

Gladhe8er 06-05-2009 08:26 AM

Looks and sounds great Norm! The engine is definitely a "looker." The boys at Performance marine did a nice job.

Gibson mufflers, right?

See ya on the lake!

Correct, Gibson mufflers.
The boat is dry stored in Bolton Landing.
The prop slippage was 15% at 79 mph and 5600 RPMS. Jason is still playing with different prop combos to reduce the slippage number. Can't wait to see what's next.

Hey Norm,
The boat looks and sounds great, The boys at Performance marine did a great job. Have fun this weekend with the Donzi guys, I'm sure they will let you and Danny join in the Donzi games even though you have both crossed the line.
See if you can try Danny's prop, it may be a bit too small but it's worth a try.

Green eyes.

Finally got to see the vid. You must be very excited. Sounds great and looks the same. These Panteras handle like a dream, and yours seems to run very well. Congrats.

Elite Marine 06-05-2009 10:40 PM

I told you the handling is superb in the Pantera!!!

Congratulations Norman. Seems like yesterday we were sitting in the garage in the cold talking about the boat. I am happy to see it in the water...kind of sad though as I loved that boat!!

Sounds perfect and the engine looks great. Well done guys!

If it's a stock 26" bravo, I was told then it's actually a 25"@ 5600 rpm and a 1.5 to 1 drive. At 79 mph, I figure thats about 10% slip. I'm I wrong? Doug

Green Eyes 06-10-2009 06:10 AM

The prop decision has now been made. The guys at Performance Marine shared all of the performance data with the folks at BBlades and we've decided that a labbed 28" is the way to go. That should be the mid-range as well as the top end ticket so I'll let everyone know the results one we get it installed.

outriggers 06-10-2009 09:03 AM

I'm thinking if that 572 could pull a labbed 28" to 5400 rpm, maybe you could see 83. :) Doug
