Come on, really? Everyone has been talking about this one forever. It's DONE. If you want a 28, save your money or at least wait for something better to come along. Just trying to help...there's nothing left.
However, in the back of my head I hear "one man's trash is another man's treasure".
Seriously, no gain here. Save your time and your money IMO.

28' Project

Fellas i did pay 5K for the boat with motors and drives plus 3K to get it shipped. I've sold the drives and Manifolds but i'm keeping the motors. I've removed the floors and the gas tanks all the work requires time and time is money thats why is listed @ $7500 obo I'm willing to take any reasonable offers at the end of the day is a Pantera, the only reason I pulled back on the project is because i rather dump the cash on something new 2010 or better. I buy cheap build and then sell. And the pictures is my shop not Pantera's shop there shop has there logo painted on the wall. If any body is interested give me a call 305-305-6815
and for the haters keep your s#%t comments to yourself I do this as a hobby and to have fun, not for drama like some drama queens on these forums.

YEP. Thats the one.

Looks like its time for this thing to go into the shredder....... Ill buy the trailer.

On second thought... Is that the Pantera factory building?

Forget the shredder i think sinking it would be funner.
Along with the trailer.

Drop it off at Pantera. :angry-smiley-038:

Since you have it apart what are the stringers transom and bulkhead really like? How wet are they?

You got to understand a lot of people think your hull is structurally wet and the removal of the floor and fuel tanks revealed that condition and now you're asking someone to pay you $7500 to haul a Clorox bottle away.

It was full of water from bow to stern, but how many
People redo their bulkheads floors and stringers transom.
Alot of people water only affects the wood not fiberglass.
If water would do damage to fiberglass they wouldn't make
Fiberglass boats.

vintage chromoly 10-06-2012 03:25 PM

that's a 2 thousand dollar hull at best. you got it apart and figured that out. :lolhit:

now you want to sell it at 7500. good luck with that.

88bullet 10-06-2012 03:26 PM

Ain't trying to make a living of this dude just trying to brake
Even or take a small lost. I want dump some cash on
a newer vessel i got my eyes on. If would found this thread
Before i bought the boat i would've never bought it.
Unfortunate for me by the time i saw this thread the boat
Was already in my hands. But somebody will buy it sooner or later.
Or i'll just sink it. LOL

OCCJoe 10-06-2012 06:08 PM

I know how much Jo had told you to fix the boat and by the time you rigged it out with a single you would have between 40 to 45K invested in it , Is that about what you figured ?
For some people building a boat in little steps and paying as you go is the only way they'll ever have a nice boat . I've done it both ways and there's a certain appreciation when your out showing off a boat you built from a bare hull .
However If you have to contract out the majority of the work because you can't do it yourself then you wind up having so much money (ie the 45K) that there's no way you can come out ahead .
There's been way to many turn key 28's in the 25-40K range .
Now for me I could buy a 5K hull and splash it only having 25k in the build and know exactly what I have as opposed to buying somebody else's turn key boat that you know is gonna need something to make it the way you want it ....

Trash to Treasure is not for everyone . You have to be able to do the entire project yourself . And I believe this hull will always have a black cloud over it due to the fact it use to be a swimming pool !

WAIT A MINUTE , AN ABOVE GROUND PANTERA SWIMMING POOL .......THERE'S SOMETHING THAT HASEN'T BEEN DONE YET !

Brandon Anderson 10-08-2012 07:01 PM

Yard art ...plant a tree in it. We could put christmas light on it. I have spent 3 grand on worse things.

Stormrider 10-08-2012 07:28 PM

Put a wheel and throttles in it.
Pit on blocks in the backyard and let the kids play pretend racer.
Better than a jungle gym.

Brandon Anderson 10-08-2012 09:34 PM

On a serious note. I would consider it because at least you know your starting from scratch. Remove the deck and go for it. It probably would not make sense money wise to go that far with it. I know what I paid for my transom and rear part of stringer replacement . Quality work definetly not cheap. How much to re rig this boat ? I bet it would be 50 grand

way too much!

i bet your right in the ballpark at that number, if not even more.

dude figured that out after he bought it and talked to someone that knows and now it's time for the "double your money" flip.

scarab63 10-09-2012 06:52 AM

$45-$50 sounds right to me to sub out labor & buy parts.
That would be well equipped with modest power & drive.

Somebody will buy this boat in due time.....
But it'll def always have a rainy cloud hanging over its name.
There's just some boats that get known for certain things. This one just happens to be known for being a frog pond.

EBay.....honest description & it'll sell either to somebody looking to build exactly what they want, or somebody with stars in their eyes.

excalibur82 10-09-2012 08:15 AM

I still can't believe some person bought this boat after it has been all over this web site....

Austin 10-09-2012 11:42 AM

No work needed on this one.... http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/boa/3304426095.html

Brandon Anderson 10-09-2012 07:17 PM

At 3000, I don't think it's bad but....I would rather buy a nice one that doesn't need 40 or 50 put into it. Also I can not believe someone paid 3000 to ship this from TX to FL. I need to start hauling boats.

3k?:lolhit:

88bullet 10-10-2012 06:13 AM

some one qualified, insured, safe rig etc, etc. You can't compare it to your actual expenses. Someone is taking their time and working for you by doing it.
I did a 21' O/B Super Boat for a customer in Long Island and I saw the polar opposite sides of the spectrum from both trips.

You guys think if i have an 81 28' twin motor setup
which has been a b#$ch to sell, that i'm going to get a 1980
boat hell no! When i'm ready to put up i will, but for right now all i'm going to say is badass, Mr. Bullet start selling those old used 28's so you can buy mine and be on top since u always got something to say about everything or come down to Miami and lets have a liitle race out in the gulfstream and see what you got.

88bullet 11-08-2012 09:47 PM

LOL flower pot, thats a good one. everyday somebody comes over to see it, I've even lowered the price to $2000 grand but nobody wants to get into the project i don't blame them if i would've known what it was i would've never bought it myself, but i was lied to by the sellers and by the time i found this thread the boat was on its way down from Texas, its all good if nobody buys it me and a budy are going to start the work on it in the future and then sell it. Jo at Pantera gives me a good deal on the new SR dashboards and the new windscreen i'm going to redo the stringers and transom to take some weight off using composite, i got to 454's there in my shop so will see which way it goes.
i'll post some pictures of the new boat soon.

88bullet 11-09-2012 06:02 AM
